  • Yep…buy couple of them, hide them inside the car.
Car will then have a GPS tracker if they ever get stolen. With the car theft numbers around Gold Coast, $65 is a cheap investment towards security. :)

Yep, then if the thief finds it hidden within the car, takes it out, connects it up to their computer on USB, downloads & installs the drivers, signs into your Google account (maybe you can write your password on the back of the watch?) and uploads the data to Google Maps then you've got them! The perfect solution for car thefts.

Blame the thread starter for a misleading title. I have hidden $50 cellphones in my car and they work fine for now…wanted something smaller and something that doesn't chew through battery.

        • Well it is a GPS tracker. It wasn't mentioned that you could remotely access it.

        • It is more of a logger than a tracker. You cannot track the gps unit's current location, instead the unit logs it's location to it's internal memory. So there is no data push through this.

It's probably best to describe it as a GPS logger, not a tracker. You can't track the position of the watch over the internet in real time.

      • You can probably write a GUI interface using Visual Basic to locate an IP address though, right?

      • Aha…yeah I thought it contains a mini gps tracking chip… but read through the product detail in the page, it's a logger..not a tracker. :\
        Meh….

Useful if someone hire's a van off you to bury a barrel or 7 full of cash.

    • if someone buried a barrel, I don't think I'd want to open it

    • Ta, didn't see that offer!

      • But this price is the lowest it has been for an individual watch. Should be able to sign up for a welcome code and get a further $5 off.

        • So what is the deal with this $5 off sign up thing. I have tried with multiple email accounts and I didnt get the emnail confirmation until 2 days or so later….others says it should be in your mailbox within 5 minutes. And what is the welcome code anyway, there is nothing in the email from HN saying what it is for the $5 off, yet when I sgined up definately said $5 off. I have asked HN to get back to me…….well still waiting….

        • Not sure whats going on. Received my welcome emails today but no code. When I posted the logitech deal a few weeks ago the code arrived within minutes.

Maybe they can tell we are ozbargainers and aren't sending the codes.

  • Last deal 2 for $129 (buy 1 get 1 free) means exactly the same price per unit. Is it a deal?
Anyway, I like this design. Just wonder if it's water resistant or not.

    • well yes. 50% is very different to bogof.

For example, I have zero need for the second watch but really want the first one. Would rather I pay double to get hat one watch I want, and then happen to get a second watch I don't want for free or just pay half to get the one I do want. I would much rather have 50%.

  • Thanks OP

  • I wonder if these work with strava?

    • Doesn't from what I can tell, it does work with mapmyride/mapmyride

Battery life is about 4-5 hours when recording… Software needs polishing but will suffice…
