  • I thought Boxee services were shutting down?

      http://www.boxee.tv/

Not sure what that all means. But there it is.

    • Yes, they stopped officially supporting the product even before they got bought out by Samsung. It still works fine, you just can't get any more software updates etc.

      • You can update with these guys:
        http://boxeeplus.com/

        Who add some additional features.
But i don't think you're going to find too many frequent updates.

I'm sure just about everyone has a WDTV or 2 by now from Ozbargain…can't see any reason to spend more on this.

    • WD Live Streaming (the latest) struggles with many of my full quality blu-ray rips. This Boxee uses a more powerful ATOM processor. I suppose it will play my entire collection at ease. But it's a bit bulky compared to WD devices.

        Your Gen 3 wdtv struggles?

I've never had major playback issues because of the wdtv but with the quality of the wireless network. Since upgrading to a wireless AC router, it connects at the highest wireless N speed the unit supports and hasn't missed a beat.

If you are using USB or Ethernet, and it still struggles, then disregard my post.

Rep, for the love of everything that is sacred, can you guys please have someone update you web design and I promise to spend money at my local branch :)

    • Haha… You should see what they had before the current iteration. Older one was pretty much a glorified PDF folder; at least they they have individual product pages :)

It is perfect the way it is! Think of it as a time capsule to 1996…

      • I must remember to look for my dial-up modem then, to complete the experience…

        • MSY wouldn't be MSY if it has a decent website design.

When I went in to the Geelong branch some months ago, I was absolutely traumatised by the experience:

          • There was no queue that stretched out the door (only 1 guy other guy in the shop).
          • And the guy at the counter was HELPING that other customer and giving him ADVICE instead of telling him to go away and do some research!

Please. No more shocks to my system. I won't be able to handle the next one.

  • great unit.. but i bought it for about $210 2-3 years ago..

  • How does this go with navigation and playback from youtube? My WD one is slow as hell. Also struggles with large vid files. Think i need and upgrade as the WD media player is also temperamental and is doing my head in.

  • I'm going to Neg this - Myer has it on clearance for $126.00!

    • Thank you for letting us know :)

    • Since last night, Myer's price has gone up to $180 :(

  • Back @ $126 at Myer. 18/10/2013
