  • i havent even started hots yet. what a shame.

    • This is the original game, hots is the expansion. Think you got them around the wrong way?

  • MOP Was 50% off last week now its HOTS! Great. =D

  • When I click buy it now, it takes me to a page to upgrade to HOTS costs $37.45
Or when I select buy physical edition, it costs $20.68 to post to Australia.
How do we buy HOTS for 29.99 (USD or AUD)?

  • So no more price gouging by Blizzard? I just checked the Digital prices and they've suddenly changed to USD instead of using AUD with the Australia Tax.

Says $49.98 USD for SC2 + HOTS digital, while D3 has dropped to $59.99 USD from $79.95 AUD.

I think the gouging is still there, try clicking buy it now and then signing in … its jumps back to the higher AUD price :(

      • Just open a new account or use an account with the starter edition. Make sure that it doesn't have WOL if you are getting WOL and HOTS if you're getting HOTS. I got $22.45 AUD for trying out with a starter edition account, just retain the cd key afterwards if so. Should work for you. I didn't expect this to be rocket science.

Won't this mean your new key is tied to this new account instead of upgrading your old one?
I'll withdraw the negative if you are right.

Edit: Just created a new account and don't even get the option to purchase HOTS on its own.

        • Depends on whether you decide to upgrade the account or just purchase the game. The former and latter should be explanatory and you should get a serial key from memory if you purchase it.

        • Oh yeah, sorry that's very odd.

        • See Ventak's reply below.
You can change to USD to get the HOTS for USD29.99

Well just to clarify, my account has Warcraft 3 Reign of Chaos & The Frozen Throne expansion already activated.

When I first logged into my Battle.net account (US Battle.net not SEA), I first checked the physical game prices and OP's prices were correct. Then for good measure, I checked the digital prices. At first, it was using the AUD gouged prices with the Balance figure saying $0.00 AUD, but after refreshing about a few minutes after, suddenly I got USD pricing for the digital ones as well, with the Balance figure now saying $0.00 USD.

I'm not sure whether it'll revert when I actually purchase (I don't want to purchase just to find out).

Also, regardless of what currency was being used, only SC2 and D3 had AUD pricing. The rest all used USD.

EDIT: Okay, I've played around with different currencies, and THAT is what's making all the difference (if you switch to AUD you get the gouged prices, if you use USD you get US prices). Now, can purchases at US prices still be done…

        • Yeah I have bought SC2 bundle with USD by switching to US currency (USD$49.99) and using my battle.net balance.

  • Wasnt WoL down to like 10$ at one point?

      ahhh! you scared me.

  • For some reasons mine keeps going to Europe and showing me 29.9 euro. =_=
    Opened a ticket to blizz

  • Is there any benefits of actually buying the game to just spawning?
