  • Hmmm….

Would you kindly explain exactly what you think ShoppingSquare mean by "Australian Warranty".

Is this anything like the SAMSUNG Australia Two Year Warranty with service/repair (or replacement) carried out by Samsung factory trained technicians with only genuine Samsung parts being used?

    EDIT
My total for delivery to Sydney was AU$590

    • if you read carefully in the page it says " 1 Year Manufacturer Warranty# via Seller in Australia"

so I guess it is not an Aus stock.

      • if you read carefully in the page it says " 1 Year Manufacturer Warranty# via Seller in Australia"

Yes, I have just been reading all the small print. (Very interesting link to AU Customs page as well).

However, "1 Year Manufacturer Warranty# via Seller in Australia" can only mean that the item is covered under SAMSUNG Hong Kong's One Year Warranty and that the seller (ShoppingSquare) will endeavor to return the item to Hong Kong to claim warranty.

One wonders just who pays for the return, and how long it all could take. Not to mention the 'mess' and liability claim(s) if the items goes missing at any stage.

        Buyer->ShoppingSquare->Hong Hong Agent->SAMSUNG HK->Hong Kong Agent->ShoppingSquare->Buyer

so I guess it is not an Aus stock.

If it were an Australian Market SAMSUNG it would be in stock in Australia AND it would have a TWO YEAR WARRANTY.

    • I believe it's "Australia Warranty" provided by themselves.

      • I believe it's "Australia Warranty" provided by themselves.

Then why state "1 Year Manufacturer Warranty" and then add "via Seller in Australia"?

Surely, if what you say is correct, it should state something like "1 Year Warranty from ShoppingSquare"?

Sorry guys, but have you never seen the listings on here from shoppingsquare before?
Grey imports! Always have been… Always will!!!

      • You need send the phone back to them, then them sent your phone back to their warehouse country(where this phone import from).

After their oversea warehouse receive your phone, they send your phone to SAMSUNG customer center to repair it.

After fixing it, SAMSUNG send you phone back to their oversea warehouse. Their warehouse send phone back to Australia.

They send phone back to you.

So do you think how much it would cost for you and them? Do you think they will send your phone for free? It may be included in the money you pay for them for doing this one time, but second time, they would just tell you that they won't do it for you.

          Yes, as I showed before:…

          Buyer->ShoppingSquare->Hong Hong Agent->SAMSUNG HK->Hong Kong Agent->ShoppingSquare->Buyer

I think it is not a bargain at this price - too much risk for too little a saving.

  • Is this a bargain at $590 delivered - considering the lack of local SAMSUNG TWO YEAR WARRANTY?

It may well be worth the risk.

An AU market phone is what? $658 ?

    $68 difference.

I don't know. Two years local warranty for $68…..

That's the $68 question that only you can answer.
The OP seemed to think this was a bargain… But then again, I bet he didn't buy one!

    • As before A3A, fair criticism but a rough neg. The utility of a domestic warranty does not have a precise value.

How much would you have to save before a grey import is not neg worthy in your opinion (genuinely asking, not snarking)? $75? $100? $200? $300? Too subjective to neg.

IMO, if something is cheaper elsewhere (actual, certain price): neg. If grey import is only slightly less expensive: comment about the value of the domestic warranty and the risks/costs involved with an international warranty/imported product.

  • Where is the 32gb model ?

  • 16gb not enough nowadays.

Unlike my pain in the @$$ iPhone, these phones support memory cards too! How big do you want to go?

Yeah, I know. We have all iPhones in the family.

Thinking of the HTC One - but it also has no Memory Card slot.

Where is the 32gb model ?

I want 64GB or even 128GB - may not need it, but want it.

      Excellent! Good work/find!

Two year Samsung warranty is well worth the extra $10.

This ShoppingSquare price is definitely not a bargain.

      EDIT
You should post your find here on OzBargain as a bargain.

Thanks, have done that! But it seems like limited stock so unsure if it will last long.

The Shoppingsquare Australian warranty means there's an Australian by the name of Bob working in a small dusty factory in Hong Kong repairing the phones sent back to them…

Hmm.. I think it may be actually even worse than that.

Regarding any ShoppingSquare warranty on SAMSUNG devices:-

    Regarding ShoppingSquare in general:-

Notice the average low score of only two stars, which would be ONLY ONE STAR if one discounted all the fake reviews.
