I thought this was a pretty good price for a series 6 60inch samsung lcd lec tv.
After much conversation between retailers, I purchased the TV at Harvey Norman for $1920 :)

Yes, Harvey Norman has it advertised for $1990 in the stores. I was wondering if this is a good price, or if I wait a few months, will it become cheaper again?
Not a good price. I bought the 6500M 60" a few months ago at David Jones for $1,700.00

No need for 3D, no need for Smartness…Only you "No need for 3D, no need for Smartness". Some may want it.
Also no 3D no Smart TV are older model and panel. Nowadays you cannot buy no smart no 3D TV with newer model.

I thought the same (no need for it) but my Samsung came with Smart TV built in. I have been very impressed with the Samsung features. I can even stream recorded TV from my Humax PVR at the other end of my house through the Samsung TV (I didn't expect that). And iView is great.
Still don't use 3D much - that I could do without.

the $1990 that you posted as the 'bargain' heading or the $1930 that the goodguys would sell it to you for?Price matching isnt a bargain. OP did the right thing by posting the advertised sale price to then price match with others
By Xmas, you can a 70" smart 3D TV under $2000. It's worth to wait few more months.
But then again, the Ozzy $ is dropping……
Just bought the 60" LG 60LA6230 from Good Guys in Brisbane for $2000 - brilliant tv with passive 3D, not sure how it compares to Sammy though. Word is that LG & Samsung are the only 2 brands that will play pretty much ALL file formats in their inbuilt Media Players.I'll grab the Samsung over LG anytime.
