Horrible online and customer service Harvey Norman and their franchise Broadmeadows

I bought 2 PS3 move starter packs from Harvey Norman after seeing this thread on Ozbargain.
http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/115815

Ok about a week they delivered one PS3 move starter pack. A day later I emailed regarding where the PS3 move starter pack was? They responding with an automated email 24 hours later stating they would contact me within 24 hours. 24 hours past, no response. I rang their customer service line who promised they me someone from their Broadmeadows store would contact me within 24 hours. 24 hours pass, In fact 4 days pass, so I call up their customer service line again, where the franchise or rep from Broadmeadows would contact me that afternoon. Of course no one contacted me! Worst customer service ever and I am still waiting!

I hate ordering stuff from Harvey Norman. Once upon a time, the manager at a franchise of Harvey Norman told me that an order I placed would be available in two weeks maximum, after I specifically ask if it would take something like 2 or 3 months since it was a back order.

Little did I know, that I would in fact have to wait 3 months for an iPad case. Awesome.

Same story. I was struggling to get someone to respond to me. Took me 5 months to get a refund for a game they never shipped. Have never shopped from there since.

After a month I would told my credit company to reverse the transaction.

    Yeah its a terrible arrangement.
The stores don't seem interested at all
If you don't make some noise then they totally ignore your order
They need to rethink the ONLINE deals

I would have been happy to pick up the items at my nearest Harvey Norman but they don't give this option if it is out of stock and they don't transfer stock between stores. Their customer service makes me want to bang my head against a wall!

  • I was treated the same way at Harvey Norman 84 ORiordan St Alexandria (NSW) by the a staff member named Fadi Clear. When I got fed up, I asked to speak to the manager. He's reply was, "I am the manager, so my decision is final"

  • You can't complain until you've experienced the Bundaberg store. We walked in there one afternoon to BUY (not simply look at) a camera - walked out 45 minutes later, without ever having as much seen a staff member, let alone been served.

Another time I did a click and collect on a telstra starter pack - the usual thing, email stating that the company would contact me when ready for collection yada yada yada. Nothing whatsoever. Because I didn't specifically need it at the time I didn't bother, as I figured the expiry date would be extended, the longer I left it (assuming they'd take one off the shelf when I went, which they did.) About 8 months later when I had to go for something else I made them find the order and collected it then.

Then there was driving 20 k's each way into town to get the 2 for 1 Itunes cards - staff member claimed to have known nothing about the offer and claimed not to have been able to find anything about it online. I walked out of the store, ordered online via my mobile and 30 minutes later when I got home there was an email waiting telling me my order was ready to collect. I could go on ….. and on …. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE store.

  • Actually got a phone call from Harvey Norman Broadmeadows. Basically the guy explained for 12 minutes they sent the item and were blaming the contract courier for the missing PS3 move starter pack. Basically they said the courier company were avoiding their inquires… Geez I know how that feels! From the sound of it, someone knocked it off. Today I received an email I would receive a refund for $38.
I received this email, because they the courier company can't find the PS3 move starter pack and they don't any starter packs in stock. FFS

This is the first and last time I use Hardly Norman Online!
