  • Are these retrofit? Are these 36 or 60 degrees? How do these compare with PHILIPS MASTER LED? Thanks.

    • 90 degrees as in the description.

      • Retrofit?

        • This is not a retrofit. This is a replacement.

If you accidentally were to click the link you might find the answers…
Compared with master led its night and day, you only use mr16 when you absolutely have to. I.e. Renting or a DIY numpty.
Otherwise you cut a bigger hole and step up to what led lighting has promised but until recently never delivered.
Real diffused brightness. Only buy warm white though. No one wants to see their partner in harsh white light.

      • To be fair to alanslho, it's not unreasonable to expect the deal's description for a item to include basic specs. Otherwise everyone who has a slight interest in LED down lights will have to click on the link, potentially wasting a lot of time across many OzBargainers (currently 350 clicks).

Get off your high horse champ. If a bargainer is interested they will click the link.
If not they won't enter the thread.
Wasting time is what forums are all about, thanks for yours…

Just added the specs from Atoms website:
        http://www.atomlighting.com.au/product-pages/LED-downlights/…

        • Thanks rep :)

    • The AT9012 is a complete (and sealed) unit, as opposed to a single bulb (without the fitting) and to be completely honest… The two aren't really comparable.

As stated in the other comments, the AT9012 has a 90 degree beam (vs 60 degree from the Phillips). Also thanks to the 90 degree beam and diffuser, you get a much more natural and 'soft' light, rather than a more focused down-light. The AT9012 is also much brighter, despite the increased spread of light.

If you're able, try and see some in the flesh; they really are great lights (the most popular we sell in-store)

      • Hi Rep, I take it being a "complete unit" does it need a transformer/driver? If so what type is compatible with the AT9012? Does it come with a DIY connection or is electrician required for fitting? Thanks!

        • The transformer/driver is included. It comes with a flexi-plug/standard 3-pin Aus power cord as standard too (also in the box, to connect to the driver). Cheers!

Good piece of kit. Pretty standard price though.

It's not a retrofit as it doesn't fit into your existing fitting. You need to remove your entire downlight and replace it with this. They come with flex and plug with the transformer so if you've got outlets in your ceiling it's a quick job and doesn't require an electrician. Will fit into any 90mm cutout hole.

Compared to Phillips Masters, these are significantly brighter and don't have that stupid fan.

    • RRP on the AT9012 usually runs about $59 (with the 'standard' price being around $49);
I've also looked around the make sure I could give the best price available to OzBargain - let us know if you can find it cheaper anywhere else though!

  • a few LED downlights on e-bay is actually not too far off from this, and it's retrofit.

  • So not a decent deal? We have 9 downlight to replace, but they have about a 110mm hole.

    • As I replied to a member above - let us know if you can find these cheaper elsewhere with free shipping included. From what I could see though, we have the best price available online currently.

If you have a 110mm cutout, we have an extension plate available to fill a larger cutout. As standard though, the AT9012 has a 90mm cutout (and a 110mm 'face')

  • I would recommend buying pure white not cool white if you don't like harsh light and around 1500 lumens which is probably around 18-20 watt cree aprox.

  • Hi Rep, what do you have in the way of 150degree beam angle and price please? Cheers ….

    • To be honest, not much. I've sourced some 110degree LED downlights (similar to the AT9012, just with a wider beam and a slightly bigger housing) but aside from that, I haven't been able to find any LED downlights with that wide of an angle.
If you're really after a 150degree beam, the only thing I could source was an actual LED 'bulb' like this: http://www.lightingsuperstore.com.au/LED/3watt-B15-LED-Candl… - however as the main lighting in a room, they would be very dull (as they're normally suited for table lamps/pendants etc)

  • How is this compared to Brightgreens?

  • Thanks Rep ….. we are looking for around 9 LED down lights, complete assembly, and went into a Lighting Shop in Sydney who recommended 150degree beam angle lights.
