    Strange, rather contradictorially, it says that it supports iPhone 5c and 5s (which are baselined as iOS7).

    I suspect that the lightning connection is not licensed according to Apple's new iOS detection algorithms and so your iOS 7 phones will 'reject' the connection.

    This is happening with a few knockoff lightening adapters we have which used to work under iOS6 (on an iPhone 5) but not under iOS 7.02.

    There are a few workarounds for this but that involves having an authentic cable plugged in and then swapping it over to the 'fake' one. I don't recall the exact details but a quick google will find the answer.

    My personal preference is for those separate units which require a USB cable connection as it will then support a variety of device types and not just a particular iPhone model. EG. those 2200 miliamp Duracell onces for AU$15-20 have worked great for me as a portable power source on my travels.
