Not really sure that 'NBN Ready' is accurate anymore.

Wireless is still NBN, well that's what the (current) government says.

Well in theory (atm at least, depending on whether they actually do a good cost/benefit analysis) the majority of people will be connected by VDSL, which this doesn't support.

the modem supports the nbn…. just the current moron in government dosnt

      • wireless g or wireless a? I thought they were just going back to coaxial 10mb to use existing infrastructure?

  • Take out the shipping and its not really a discount. Can be had for $149 elsewhere (JBHIFI and Office works)- was looking at these over the weekend. Was thinking of this one, however, so very unfavourable reviews and dodgy units on whirlpool means I'd rather pick up in store.

Personally much preferred the 2890 at admittedly double the price from an earlier post:

  • Same price at iibuy but with cheaper shipping for me.

  • wow! i just bought this from Mwave today, picked it up as its close to my uni. And using it now, and its a lot more reliable than my old but ever trusty dynalink rta1025w. Loving it.

  • Been using this modem for some months now, works flawlessly.

  • I haven't been too impressed by it based on the wireless reception in our unit, and they're only 5 meters away…

  • I want to stick a family photo at the blank white space at the front

does this modem runs cool ?

You buy your modem based on whether you can use it as photo frame?

      • dual purpose bro, dual purpose.

beside, I love to add a personal touch to the things I bought.

NSA got your d-Linked ass mwahahahahahaha!

  • My ADSL 2+ got very bad syn speed ~4m, the estimated cable length is 3.9km. Is this modem good for my situation?

    • No. even the $1000000000 modem will NOT fix this issue. The only solution is to ask Telstra to build a exchange near you, or buy another house closer.

      • or bang your head while waiting for the NBN

      • I just though that if "Broadcomm" chipset router may help a little.
