Most of our devices in our homes are Wifi 5 and 6 capable, I dont think I have any devices with Wifi 7.
Would I be able to connect my Wifi 5 and 6 devices to this eero 7?
I just upgraded to FTTP, and using Telstra Smart Modem 2, I have issue with weak wifi in the study room. I am thinking to get one (I cant afford to buy 2).
    I appreciate your inputs.

Yeah all new routers are backwards compatible with Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 5.

You may need two eero's being in a two level home.

Thank you for your help (for this and the past).
When I researched 'budget mesh wifi', some posts on reddit recommended TP Link Deco system. I searched on here, it does not seem TP link Deco significantly cheaper than this.
        Should I wait?
I also searched Fb Marketplae, eero 6+ cost about $120s.

        • Maybe wait and get a 2-pack. Another option is to buy one eero now and one later.

    • You might need to set the 2.4GHz WiFi band on the WiFi 7 router not to enforce WPA3 (if you have some really old WiFi 5 devices).

I wouldn't go with eero for range (if you get multiple, then it's probably okay). eero Pro 7's range and performance aren't great compared to competition. However, for your situation, you need at least a 2 units mesh kit.

      • What would you recommend for one with good range please?

  • I'll have to get onto their chat to see if people already with them can purchases these at that price.

    • +1

Yeah you can get this price.

  • are these 12 month or 24 month plans for the discounted eero

    • Upfront cost. I don't know if they do a repayment plan.

      • I will pay upfront for the eero but I think you have to be contracted for 12 or 24 months on your plan , I just don't know which one it is

        • +1

          There is no contract.

  • Anyone know how to turn 2.4Ghz off on an eero?

    • +2

      Not an option.

    • you can enable 2.4 only for limited time, then it comes back to mixed. it's to first connect 2.4 devices first. Settings-> troubleshooting-> My device won't connect -> My device is 2.4ghz only -> enable button

      • Dang. That is the opposite of what I want.

        • +2

Oh lol, sorry, I misread that! yep as @spicygastropod said, not an option

Southern phone were also offering favourable pricing on eeros

    • +1

Yes they have Max 7 for $499 but too rich for me.

      • Pro 7 is the mvp

  • +1

Keep in mind that the eero 7 has wifi 7 without the 6Ghz band, so you only get 2.4 and 5Ghz bands. But you still get MLO and the pricing for this is similar to eero 6.

  • The pro 7 or the TP-link deco BE11000? Apparently the dual pack could be had for around $520 on Good Guys Commercial.

Aussie Broadband doing this too now for current customers if you want Eero 7 or Pro 7. Damn, I just bought Pro 6e from ABB at roughly same price recently… RIP
