  • is there a large performance difference between a new one and a refurb?

    • +2

0 performance difference, unless it doesn't work at all.

    • There should be no performance difference at all. For the most part they are simply cards that have been sent back for warranty by the original customer, they were advance replaced with a new model and their original one was repaired by EVGA.

  • How much is shipping? I don't want to register to find out.

    • +1

      Hi Dan,

Shipping starts from $7.55 to Melbourne metro, $10.55 to Sydney, Adelaide, Hobart & Canberra Metro, $16 to Brisbane & the Gold Cost and $28 to Perth.

Rural areas and smaller cities vary in price, you can enter your post code in the blue bar on any product page to estimate shipping without registering.

      • Ah… I missed that.

  • Went to checkout then says there isn't enough stock on the 680 …. :-(

    • Sorry, we just sold 3 of those in the last 2 minutes and that was all we had left in stock.

  • Do you have any GTX-580 015-P3-1580-AR
    (not over clocked)

    EVGA GeForce GTX 580 1536 MB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 2DVI/Mini-HDMI SLI , 015-P3-1580-AR

      Hi Shredu,

Sorry only what we have listed on the website and above in the description.

  • Wow shipping for me is $38 , when i type in postcode for suburb next to mine which is a (1 minute drive away) it says $10.55 (confused) :S

      Hi Akamaka,

Shipping pricing is provided by our couriers, they base their pricing on post codes and at the border of two suburbs the prices can change dramatically. For this reason a lot of our customers choose to have orders delivered to friends or work places.

      • How fast is your courier?

I wonder if you can make a deal with another courier - or use auspost or something - for the more expensive areas?

$10 to Sydney is fine, but surely someone can do better than $37 for suburbs within the metro areas of capital cities. Not many tech deals are still a bargain after you add forty bucks. And people who live a ways from the city are more likely to shop online with you, as they're less likely to have good brick-and-mortar alternatives.

This seems to comes up often in evatech bargain posts…

          Hi Mgowen,

Our couriers usual delivery times are

Next business day to Melbourne Metro, Geelong & Bendigo
2-3 Business days to Sydney / Canberra / Adelaide
2-4 Business days to Hobart / Launceston / Brisbane / Perth
3-5 Business days to Darin / Cairns / Townsville

They also provide insurance up to $1,500, provide easy to use online tracking and are, for most metro areas, very competitively priced, especially for large or bulky items such as cases, monitors and system packages of which we sell many.

We are always looking in to ways to better our services and prices, shipping prices for small items are a concern we are actively looking in to and will continue to do so until an effective, reliable, cost effective solution has been found.

    • If your work or friends/family live in or close to a capital city, try that.

  • Shipping is a killer for me. Brisbane, $16.

Sorry, we don't make any money on delivery at all, we simply charge the same fee our couriers do to get everything from point A to point B, and point B in this case is 1,800kms away.

Thanks! Got a GTX 460 to SLI with my current one. Sure beats the $300 I paid for it new

  • Some great deals! Thanks, bought a GTX 580!

    For anyone considering this:

The $139 one was $153 by the time I paid shipping to my office and paypal fee, but that's still great value (for a card Tom's hardware puts roughly on par with the $200 GTX 660, $225 HD 7870, and $250 R9 270x see the latest hierarchy chart).

The 460 might be the best bargain of the lot though, it'll play some new games on high settings - for $70!

    • +1

Yeah the 580 is good for the price but make sure you have a PSU to suit, it uses around twice the power of a 660/7870.

      • Thanks for the heads up.

The official specs say 600W, but because crappy cheap PSUs exaggerate their capacity, the video card makers have to overestimate these by quite a bit. So hopefully my top-brand Corsair 550W is more than enough.

Nice. Can finally replace my GTX280 I've had for years.
And pickup is even better ;p

  • +1

    Wow selling out fast.

  • Damn it, wish i hadnt bought my 670 from you guys just a couple of days ago, would have got a 580.

    • +1

670 is quite a bit faster, though, right? Bet you could sell it for a decent price on ebay if you wanted to downgrade, though…

      • Yeah it is apparently by about 20-30%. But i also spent about a hundred extra on it…so hard to say but i think the 580 may have been better bang for buck except its refurbed and my one was brand new.

So how does the warranty work with EVGA? Do we have to ship overseas for it? that sounds a bit scary.
