..and fchis is prepared to break copyright to prove a point?

    • quotations will be added next time. cheers

  • First of all, it's not a good idea to copy and paste the whole article here. "Bryan Bishop" wrote it and I think he would prefer the article to stay on The Verge. A link + a summary / opinion would suffice.

Secondly, Samsung has not been known to play well. "Whatever it takes" — maybe. Sockpuppeting to bad mouth the competition online? Yeah they have been fined for that. Business is not really a gentleman's sport anyway, but there's a fine line between "whatever it takes" and "stay legal". I think they might have crossed it in this case.

    • I hate that they've become a household name.
The business practices are just a start. I'm waiting for society to notice the quality drop.

Look at Sony. 80's? best stuff you can buy, formed a name, then dropped quality steadily untill they're "the average" no longer top end, but still charge a premium.

Phones and white goods from Samsung have been failing for a long time now. China phones are cheaper and out-spec them, even Apple are hot on their heels in terms of pricing.

Nexus should have wiped them out of the mobile scene, but people follow brands.
and how they even began on the whitegoods scene I'll never know.

I hope they get hit HARD for this.

      • "I hope they get hit HARD for this."

same here. their moral ground is pretty low.
