5x Generic Lightning Cables for $4.28 ($0.86 Each with 10% Coupon - Sign up Required)

Thought this was not a bad deal given it is an AUS seller. I think this is the same person/organisation - http://myworld.ebay.com.au/tbelectrix/

Payment methods accepted include:
1. Bank transfer
2. Paymate
3. Paypal

The catch to this deal is payment methods accepted are:
1. Bank Transfer
2. Cash on Delivery <- I don't know what this actually means

I put through an order for 6 X cables recently and they arrived fairly quickly in a letter envelope.

Current using an iPhone 5 and I have tried it on a 5S. Seems to work for charging. I could not upgrade to iOS 7 using the cable but backing up etc seems to work.

The "this cable or accessory is not certified" message does comes up. I am only getting it when the power source is turned off. I am not sure why.

Coupon works only for the first order.

Hope someone finds this post useful.

EDIT: updated payment options - just received an email saying paypal now available.
EDIT#2: added ABN details - Thanks wolfenator87

  • No Paypal is kinda ringing done alarm bells :/

    • Yeah, I know! I was very reluctant to post this deal.

      • Just so I understand, the cables that you bought do work for charging on ios7 but just sometimes you get the warning about the cable?

        • That's correct. I've only used them for about a week though.

Also just wanted to add that, I initially purchased one cable through their ebay store which is how I found the site and coupon. The first cable that came would get the message every time I plugged it in. Whilst with the next 6 I ordered, the message came on only when I turned off the power source.

This is definitely a bargain, but since apple has made the charging port digital now, it's pretty pointless on buying generic chargers. I bought 2 generic lightning cables and after upgrading to ios7 they're useless.

If anyone else know how to get around this let me know…

    • I've got a few generics. Some stopped charging at all with ios7 and others still work but give a warning message.

some cheapies are known to work with ios7 and 5s. have a look at the last few pages of some of these threads.

    Thanks

  • Warning: Coupon is either invalid, expired or reached it's usage limit!

    • I just signed up a new account and tried it. It's still working. Are you logged in when you applied the coupon?

  • Just put an order through and paid with CC.

    • How's the quality of the cables?

      • They look good lol.
I don't actually own any iProducts so I have been urging the friends/family I gave them to urgently try them out but they are too lazy and said they will "do it later" lol. They obviously don't need it right now.

        • Hahaha, your hilarious! I have to admit that I tend to do that too, buy because its a bargain and then find someone to give it to.

        • I express my love buy buying cheap goods at wholesale prices and giving them to those special ones around me. I really need to stop telling them them what price was paid(it's a bad habit and self gloating), but everyone that knows me automatically assumes I "got a deal" or a "special price" on commodity X, so it's no surprise really.
