The best thing about BETFAIR is that you are allowed to place a bet on inplay games, which mean that… (You can place a bet on any sport at any time before the match finishes)

Technique 2:
In betfair you can place bets backing players and also laying players. Betfair is like an exchange for people who want to bet on sports. Just like in ASX you buy a share at lower price and sell it at higher, same concept goes with Betfair.
You back player at higher odds and lay him at lower odds.
E.g. Federer is playing roddick (Now the general logic would be federed has good chances of winning but still it might be an upset/close match)
In that case lets say you put $100 on Federer at odds of 1.5 (back federer with $100 @ 1.5)
Now lets say federer wins his serve game (not set just one server game) as he won his rate will drop to i guess 1.4 (You can see this on the site even without registering incase you wanna see what I mean) At that stage jsut Lay Federe for same amount of money So Lay Federer with $100 @ 1.4
By simply doing this you will be making money of the margin you got between the two prices. So if you were doing this with $100 and you got difference of 0.10 in price so you will make $10 if Federer wins and if he looses you wont loose anything at all.

I am not a person who likes putting money on horse racing, but this is the most easiest thing you can do on the site.
You can Lay a team or a horse or a player.
E.g. US Open tennis,
You know that Nadal or Federer of any of the first 5-6 top seeders might win US open this year, but you are confident that 30th Seeded player wont win. Just go and Lay that player meaning, You putting your money on that player not to win US open, So if anyone other that that player wins, you make money :)
