Very likely that store are importing their units and they are not Australian units. Warranty may be a bit of a concern then and you might have to use a different AC adapter.
Plus $696 + $50 shipping is still $51 more expensive.

The point is that if I'm gonna save a few bucks here or there, might as well just walk into JB or a camera store and try to get a price match. At least I can have the store people show me how to use it, explain warranties, well just the added customer service i guess right?
I dunno, saving $25 or so on such a big purchase aint much of a bargain for me.

I don't disagree about going to a store to try and get a price match though, that's a very wise choice. You get far better support and if you get a dud you can swap it over straight away. I think this isn't a bad deal for the new camera though, might be difficult getting some retailers to match it, but still it is recommended to check it out in person first.
