It's been this price at JB Hi-Fi for most of the past 6 months, according to the PriceSlice historical data linked to by OzBargain.

    • How can JB Hi-Fi do this to consumers?.. JB Hi-Fi advertising "Smashing Guitar deals". sorry if I posted a crappy deal, but I was misled to believe that it's a smashing guitar deal. Shame on you JB.

      • Actually a couple times they've had 20% off factory scoops or guitars. It's possible to get one DELIVERED for less than $95 if patient.

  • Anyone know if this would be a decent starter guitar and to use with rock smith? I got no idea how to play but plenty of free time to learn now

    • I don't know about rocksmith, but this was my first guitar. Good guitar for the price i guess, but I ended up spending most of my savings at that point (I was in Uni) on a new guitar about 3 months in, simply because after 3 months in, I knew it was something I wanted to keep pursuing, and this guitar really just didn't sound that nice (specially when you're trying to best to sound like the real thing).

If you wanna try out learning, but not sure if you'll really enjoy it, then this might be a fairly cheap way to find out. I wouldn't expect you to keep this around for too long though.

That thing's gonna play like like a dog, especially if it's straight out of a box from the factory. Learner guitars are a bit like cheap bikes; if you're going to buy a cheap guitar at least go to a music shop. That way, someone would have given it a quick set-up and made sure it plays alright. That could be the difference to make you stick with it for more than a few months if you're starting out.

the smashing part could be a good thing.
switch guitars while playing a gig and smash it

Hehe. All the rock guitarists bring out the crappy guitars from back stage to be smashed or lit on fire - they don't usually do it on their main axe. I remembered one of James Hetfield's interview he said that he was given a guitar by the fan to be played on stage and then be smashed. But he said that the guitar was so bad he wanted to smash it in the middle of the show.

Now with JB Hi-Fi's low price, every aspiring guitarists can afford to smash guitars.
