  • how long do these lamps last for? I am very tempted to get one.

    • -1

Philips LED lights offer an extremely long-life of >10.000 hours.
This product carries a one year product warranty.

  • Are these dimmable?

There seem to be other lamps with more features for around the same price.

    • Yes, the lamp has a slide dimmer

  • Like the design. But $75 gets you a long way..

  • +6

    It's a lamp… for $75…

    Pass.

    Great design. I'm tempted

I was too, at first. Then I saw this image and now I'm not sure. She's got a massive (albiet very clean, too clean?) desk, and this lamp seems to almost engulf her with just enough light for her studies at 8:05pm. Why's there a dart board? It just doesn't fit with the profile. There's also this creepy looking toy next to the clock.

If you want a better look at the design, see this image from their site. The image viewer is a bit pre-LED era.

        LOL

      • +3

The perspective of the lamp looks skewed in that image. Looks they photoshopped it in and put a fake shadow underneath it.

  • Tempted by the modern sleek design and brand name. Still trying to find some reviews online before jumping in.

  • what is the power output of the usb port ?

    • Dual USB ports (DC 5V 500mA) recommended for mobile phone or mp3 players

  • works well on a desk or as a bedside table

    • +8

Really? I would never have thought of that. Thanks for the suggestion.

  • +1

Do you have these with warmer colour temp, ie around 3,000k so it's similar to incandescent?

    • Desk lamps are designed to offer daylight conditions hence their brightness.
They only come in one colour temperature.

  • Which parts of the lamp are adjustable?? From the picture it seems the head tilts up and down, and the base can rotate. Can you adjust the body in anyway??

    • Up and down and it twists with a 180 degree rotatable arms at the base.

  • using this lamp for years. save energy, good for eyes. price is as good as taobao.

    • however, you cannot replace the LED bulb.

  • +3

Can you go lower on the price rep?

  • +3

The price is still a bit high. $99 reduced to $75, even with free shipping, isn't very impressive on this website, Rep.

    • +2

yea i agree. If this was $50 with free shipping, I would have bought it. With many led lamps out there being cheaper, you would need to be more competitive.

Would have bought at least a couple to use as bedside lamps if it was $50 a piece.

  • Store Rep quote:
Philips LED lights offer an extremely long-life of >10.000 hours.
This product carries a one year product warranty.
    [unquote]

10,000 hours is around 400 x 24hours (roughly 400 days) thus the warranty covers 1 year of continuous on.
if its rated at 10,000 hours + then the warranty should be at least 3 years.
i would expect a peace of mind for at least 3 years for 75$, relating to a lamp.
1 year is not much confidence in >10.000hrs , i suspect replacement bulb 50%+ of cost of new product?

    • lol who leaves a desk lamp on 24/7 though?

      • Buy an $8 lamp and just replace the bulb

      • -2

        thats my point dummy,
warranty only covers that, and who does that

    • I see you're new to capitalism.

  • I bought one of these from eStore a while ago. It's not too bad… Few things to take not of though - although the light is pretty bright, you can't move the arm "up" very much to make it vertical, so if you want to use the lamp to light up a room, you can't really do it. It's always going to be pointing "down'. I use it as a bed side table, but think it would be more suited to a desk lamp only.

The USB chargers are awesome though.

  • saw this special for overseas buyers about $30AUD
    http://www.groupon.hk/deals/shopping/PHILIPS-LED-Desk-Lamps/…

    • +1

That link is misleading and the overseas price is NOT AUD 30 !
There several different lamps on the groupon deal 'from HK199 up".

The Philips i-Care light is actually HK599 which is AUD 83, so this Ozbargain is actually cheaper than on the Hong Kong Groupon special.

I'm very tempted but wish I could see it in the metal somewhere first….

Maybe TailsK can help me. What is the construction quality of the light like?
Does it have a cheap metal feel to it or are you pretty happy with the feel and look?

      • -2

Sorry our product is sourced from Philips Australia, not sure where the HK or overseas products are coming from. Philips Australia ensures their locally sourced products meet our Australian standards.

The Rep has answered nothing for over 7 hours and andrew229 found the same lamp for much cheaper. So it's a neg from me.

    • +1

See comments by pencilman. iCare desk lamp is HKD599 which is about A$82.40.
