FIFA 14 PS3 $60.99 Delivered (Includes 4 FUT Gold Packs Bonus)

30

Hi guys,

The price for Fifa 14 PS3 at ozgameshop has been revised (not sure when they did it). Now it's only $61 including shipping. Note that this one came with the gold packs, not sure if they are any good, I haven't played the game yet.

Was reported by monkeyer at $73

Let everyone knows what you think. I have searched and this seems to be the cheapest, BigW and the like are still having them for 78!

If you know a cheaper place, announce it loudly and proudly!

    fifa 14

Aka fifa 11 12 13, with same graphics but updated rosters

    • Of course, that's the world we are living in haha

I am actually just getting PS3 now and is planning to get Fifa 13 preowned (hopefully at under $15), I think it is good enough and I hope the online players for 13 are still there. Really enjoy the online games since I now have access to NBN.

Some rumours say fifa 14 is actually not even as good as 13. Not sure.

Typical thing that occurs with long term FIFA game players, after a year of flat out playing one FIFA they actually do make some changes to the gameplay in fact there has been large differences between FIFA 11 & 12 for example, not much between 12 & 13 and a decent amount in 14. Strength of a player I find has a bigger impact (especially in 1 on 1 battles for the ball), crosses are easier again but shooting is harder, with a more realistic dip to the ball. Pace of a player is not as effective as it used to be and this seems to be the biggest resilience from people moving from 13 to 14, but really out running most defenders to score quite easily was almost a form of hacks (if you had enough skill), so the more well rounded slightly slower pace game play is a good thing, also they massively fixed up the menus to an xbox dashboard style type, it is refreshing and HEAPS BETTER.

So threes a little review as to why its not as bad as you may of heard, and it's a game I personally am able to play 8 hours (when I can find the time) a week till the next one comes out consistently and still feel as though I could play more, so it easily justify's a $60 investment for gameplay hours!

So I hope that helps anyone who was borderline on to buy it or not…but is is all about personal preference so download the free demo if your unsure and see what you think for yourself!

also many more mini games that they have improved on!

    • Sorry but this is not true. The graphic level might not be on par with the ignite version on the PS4/XBone, but the gameplay is vastly different.

Balls feel heavier, running momentum is more impactful i.e you can't pull off skill moves with ease like you did in 13. Launch Day FIFA 14 was kind of shoddy, headers and finesse shots were overpowered but they fixed that in patch 2. Sure, if you can spare the $600, getting a PS4 and fifa 14 would be the much better option, but not everyone has that kind of disposable income.

      • Sorry but was this in response to me :s?

I never said to get a next gen console for this anywhere, I don't see it as nesasary one bit, most likely this game was coded for this gens consoles and ported over to the next, so not much value in a next gen based on this game anyway.

As far as gameplay goes, now that you mention it I have found tricks slightly harder to pull off to Greg around players, but thought it was to do with the pace difference, either way as I said it's down to personal preference and I wouldn't bother with a previous fifa if it was my first time with the franchise.

$63.20 at JB if you don't want to wait for postage!

Not sure if that comes with the FUT packs, but given the OPs comment about them, seems like not many people know what they are and how they impact the game, unless you play ultimate team (and that's a big reason to always have the latest version of FIFA) then they are irrelevant to you, so don't purchase the game based on that (all they are is for an online game mode where you get random packs of cards (like pokemon cards) and build a team from the cards you get, by making money in tournaments and season games and selling no longer desired cards in auctions to other players for snyone wondering) so they are only worth about $4.

Also if you have a choice always goes for the xbox version, not because im a fanboy, but because all FIFA's on PS3 among other games are in 720 resolution and I find IMO that FIFA is a game that is zoomed out with lots of small players and an especially small ball that at 720 resolution can even hurt your eyes to try focus on, so go for xbox's 1080 compatible version for a much crisper hi-res picture if you have the option!
