  • Does the eftpos giftcard full value have to be used in a transaction or do shops allow for part card/part cash with these giftcards?

  • what do they mean by "The claimant can request a cash back in the form of an eftpos card"? I never use eftpos card…

    • +1

They mean they'll send you an EFTPOS card with the money loaded on to it, regardless of payment method

      • Is that just like a giftcard loaded with the refund amount?

        • It has been in the past

  • +1

Lemnos Haloumi is pretty good from the supermarket when you need a convenient fix, though nothing beats the real Cypriot cheese in the tub floating in salt and water…mmm yum

  • I bought a box/slab of haloumi cheese from some where once after seeing it being cooked in a pan and browning and not melting. I ate too much of it and haven't been able to stomach it further and the squeaking I don't think food is meant to squeak…. but but… it's free……. kinda.

    • +1

I think haloumi is supposed to squeak :P

From some of these comments, sounds like this might tasty enough to be worth the effort. I have never bought haloumi before (only had at restaurants), so this deal might just get a buyer out of me.

    • I don't think food is meant to squeak

Well, not by itself it isn't!

Wow. Go nuts if you're game, but this is way too hard for me… For $7 worth of cheese.

Isn't the overhead involved in this process excessive for the company, when they could just offer a bunch of samples via mail?

What kind of marketing wiz thought this would be a good idea?

    • +10

you would want to receive cheese in the mail?

      • Good point, there maybe certain fine details i didn't consider… :P

    • +2

      Haloumi cheese samples via mail?

I think the overhead of little fridges being sent would create even more "overhead"!

    • Think of the paperwork like doing your taxes…

  • One problem. The usual size is 200g.

I just bought one yesterday from woolworths… Not eligible for cashback….

It looks like the packaging will be shrinking soon.

Or maybe that was the feta… o_O. Either way. I'll have to go check again.

  • What about cost involved in this step :

"Send the completed claim form and original receipt to Lemnos Try me Free Promotion - PO BOX 422, Moorabbin, VIC 3189"

How do we send it in cheapest way?

    • +2

      We send our receipts together!

    • +2

Look for stamps that didn't get crossed. Paste onto another envelope

      • sorry, can you give some example of what type of stamp etc you talking abt?

        • austpot 60cent stamp. recycling

        • Anything that doesn't have a stamp mark ?

      • Anyone know if the invisible postmark is an urban myth?

        • +3

It is – I often reuse unmarked stamps.

  • Thanks op - beat me to it, just saw this promo on a sticker on the pack at Woolies. Get it occasionally (when on special), but will be trying again for free.

  • Just had this Haloumi with our BBQ tonight. Now to find the packet and receipt

  • Was gonna jump in then saw these are 20-30% fat. Will pass.

  • Is it pretty easy to cook? Can I just whack some in the frying pan and lightly pan fry?

    • +2

pretty much thats how it's done super easy.

      • +3

Add squeeze of lemon juice when served. Yum!

  • +1

What do the "specially marked" packs look like? I don't want to buy the wrong one and miss out on the cashback.

    • +2

They have a sticker on the front of the packet that says "try me free".

  • How much to purchase the cheese?

    • Between $6-$8 depending where you purchase it from.

  • The claim form does not accept the unit or apartment number, it just request the street number and name :(
What can be done in this case?

    • First Name = Unit
      Last Name = 13

    • Worked for me, just use a slash, e.g 1/23 xxx Street.

      • eg : "1/23-45 xxx street" does not work :(

        • That is a weird address. That is flat/unit one, at a block of flats that spans multiple properties. If their form refuses to accept that format, just use "23", the first property in the block of addresses. They won't know or care, as long as the postie can figure it out, that's all you need. Or get it delivered to a work address or a family member or friend's place.

  • i got one today but it didnt have a sticker on the front of the packet that says "try me free". should i take it back to to coles or try putting in claim , but will i qualify and still get the cash back?

  • Hi Guys, has any one submitted the claim and received the money back?

    • Yes, and yes. Thanks for reminding me, I have an activated EFTPOS card in my wallet waiting for me to spend it.

      • Did you get the exact amount back that you spent or some general amount like $10?

        • +1

It cost me $6.75 and I got an EFTPOS card with $6.75 loaded onto it. I haven't had these before, it is like a disposable debit card which is supposedly accepted anywhere EFTPOS is available. You have to activate it once you receive it, and the funds become available the following day. I don't know if all merchants will accept it as payment (it should work) but I was intending to use it at Woolworths anyway.

        • Thanks endoftherm, I've had these before they're just prepaid cards either visa or Mastercard and can be used anywhere that these cards are accepted.
