yay thanks for this, I was about to buy it for a mate yesterday but I can get it for 1/4 of the price today :D

    • To all you blizzard fans out there, check out HearthStone, it's a f2p card dueling type game which is currently in limited beta but coming for all soon. It's a nice change compared to the some of the half-polished, badly optimised ,buggy f2p games out there.(bar a few)

      • Signed up and waiting for a beta invite :) Funny with all these game sales the game that interests me the most is free (somewhat).

  • so all I need to get started would be the wow base and mists of pandaria? Does that $4.99 include the older expansions like Burning crusade?

    • +5

Yes, the $5 includes Vanilla, TBC, WotLK and Cataclysm.. Totally worth 5 bucks..

      • +1

then you realise you're hooked for life and spend $20 a month, no thanks lol

plus it's been really dumbed down and has turned into a farm fest, lost its charm :(

  • +11

    Warning may consume soul.
Seriously a great game with loads of stories to experience, but as addictive as crack.

    • +6

Pretty much the closest legal product which can be as addictive as some illicit drugs, or more. Sure there are many games which can be addictive during the honeymoon phase, but WoW is on another level. Even if you consider yourself to have a "non addicting personality"(whatever that means).

    • [fixed] Seriously a great game with loads of stories to experience, but more addictive than crack.

    • +2

er what game are we talking about?

      • What do you get when you cross a joke with a rhetorical question?

        • +2

what do you get when you cross an owl with a bungee cord?

        • +1

          Sounds like a hoot

    • +6

I don't get addicted to games. I don't particularly like MMOs. Couldn't stop playing WOW back in the day.

      • Same here. Briefly play WOW for a good 1 month solid and couldn't get hook in. Though I'm Football Manager addict.

        • +2

ummm…. he said he COULDNT STOP playing WoW :).

  • Hmmm… need to go to US battle net store to see the price, not showing up for SEA, says page not found.

    • you need to log into bnet then the links will work properly

      • Tried that, even via Bnet beta launcher. But got it to work by directly going to US links instead of SEA when the store page was trying to re-direct. Worked perfectly from there.

  • the question is, can u use your blizzard credit to buy these?

    • Yes, I used some Blizz Credit for selling stuff in D3 from ages ago and I just use that buy a copy for my friend. If you have enough balance in your bnet account, it's the default payment method.

      • Here's my problem, my blizzard credit are in US but it keeps asking me to pay in AUD… how do I change this?

      • If you buy it with Battle.net balance, can you give it to someone or do you have to give them the account that it is linked to?

I have like $30 Battle.net balance from selling things on the auction house when it first came out and people were stupid.

        • My credits were in USD too, and i just added a bit more USD funds to it as well because I want to buy HotS. I paid for Wow with USD credits, so not sure why it's asking u for AUD.

I bought it with Bnet balance and sent it as a gift. It works.

        • It's not. DW I've worked it out anyway. I just wanted to know if I can buy a mate WoW time with my BNet balance and have him pay me for it, so I can essentially 'withdraw' that money from my Bnet balance.

          And I can. Woot.

        • +1

sweet got it working gifting it myself… so stupid

    • Awesome. I was able to purchase it for $1.40US, thanks to the first couple of weeks of D3 RMAH.
I had to gift it to myself for it to use my US$ credit, as it came up as AU$25.

      Cheers!

  • is starcraft as good a s warcraft? and as addictive?

  • +1

If I'm not wrong, the battle-chest also includes 30 days of free game time too. (15$)

  • +1

"Give the gift of Warcraft". Oh the irony.

  • Nice. Here come my second account :-)

  • +3

Is there an ozbargain guild for wow :)

    • +4

Good idea. Can you imagine the kind of auction house domination by a guild of oz-bargainers…

      • +1

We'd go all Broden on the auction house!

I used to corner the market on certain crafting materials/ingredients — I'd buy up all stock cheaper than my own listings, manipulating the price to vastly inflated levels during peak playing hours. I made an absolute killing. :)

I'm not a Broden in real life though, just when I played WoW. :P

  • Tried to get HoTS for $20usd but when I click through it comes up with $25aud grr..

  • You will love it or hate it… At least at this price if you don't like it no big loss.

  • +1

Well worth it. Also, keep an eye out for other Black Friday sales which may have the time cards on sale too ;)

With the new RAF bonuses (new Mount, access to the old ones and the Chinese release pets), this is a cheap way to RAF yourself through multiple accounts.

  • So I'm forced to spend AUD on buying sc2 eventhough I have enough USD balance to buy it? … what a retarded system!

    • +1

      vpn?

    • +4

Huh, thats weird. You can gift it using US balance, but not buy it outright. Try gifting it to yourself..?

      • +1

        SUCCESS!! /hug

  • So do you need to buy the game and then a subscription for WoW? Or does just buying the game allow you to play?

    • The game will come with a month's game time, after that you'll need to pay about $15 a month to keep playing.

      • Or its free if your toons are under level 20.. Which takes about 4 or 5 hours..

        • +1

But you can't do much if your character is under level 20?

        • +1

nope…up to lvl 20 is probably under 10% of the game

        • +1

I dont think you can trade on auction house either… and thats where you make money if you dont have a high level character on the same server.

free until level 20 is just enough time to hook them in.

here kid, a free sample. you'll love it.

  • Anyone else getting an error when attempting to buy WOW?

  • Great deal, will be waiting (and hoping) for game time cards - I need a xmas distraction ;-)

  • i only ever get starcraft for the custom games,
does anyone still play custom games on SC2 HOTS?
they used to show the custom HOTS gamres on WOL, but now theres none being shown, does that mean no one plays SC2 HOTS custom games?

    • +1

Not many players in custom games for HoTS

      • thank you, you saved me some money, i guess i will buy WoW instead.

    • +1

I dare say a lot of the custom game players for SC2 either have moved or will move to Hearthstone.

    • Don't bother buying, starcraft 2 is going to be free to play (including "arcade" aka custom maps).

  • Was thinking of upgrading to MoP, then saw this deal. Great find!
Looks like I'll be saving up a little during these uni holidays

  • This is good for extra free lvl 90s for the next expansion

  • +1

The WoW battle chest (digital version) is actually $5 if you create a trial account. I don't see a deal here.

  • If anyone buying it can you guys please let me know? You and I will get a character jump to lvl 80 I think?

    Cheers

    • Instant level 80 doesn't apply to this situation. That's called Scroll of Resurrection and only applies to people who've already purchased the game in the past, quit, and want to resume playing again.

For people who are buying the game for the first time, it's called Recruit-A-Friend and it doesn't give you an instant level 80.

      • My bad, you get grant a level.

  • I am trying to buy HOTS – I see three buttons, Buy, Gift and Try. I click on Buy and it asks for my Date of Birth. I enter it and click Continue and it just goes back to the screen with the three buttons?? This is with Chrome and also IE8.

    • Have you got SCII Wings of Liberty on your account first?
I had the same problem, but then I activated the copy I had on hand and when I went to pick up the expansion, it worked fine.

      • I'm having the same issue, both at work and home with different browsers. Already logged in, with WoL activated on the account.
Gifting lets me get to the payment screen, but the confirm button just spins endlessly, and buying the game doesn't let me progress past the age verification.

  • Dang…I really want to play this…But worried I may not want to leave my PC once I install this game :|

    • give it a go mate.

in all seriousness, it CAN be quite addictive… but its a lot of fun.
and $15 a month isnt exactly an expensive addiction.

its the time it can chew and you odnt even realise it.

just use the in game alarm to snap you out of it, and stick to it.

      • Compared to smoking it's nothing. Also when you think about it, it could keep you off ozbargain fixing another addiction thereby saving a LOT of money. Opportunity costs are ripe for the picking.

        • I'm with people's thinking on this. The best way to get rid of an addiction is to replace it with another addiction. But preferrable one that is cheaper/less illegal/less damaging to one's health.

  • Really good deals, thanks OP! The links don't work properly though and give an error.

Easiest way to get around the page error: Just log in with a battle.net account and go to the store.

  • anyone else getting a problem where after being raf'ed, it still thinks its a trial version?

  • Anyone found 60 day game time for $5 anywhere, saw a post this may be a special at around Black Friday but forget which store was doing it.

    G

  • http://wow.joystiq.com/2013/11/26/correction-gamestops-black… battlechaest + mop +60 day game card at gamestop for $15, they are affiliated with EB here in OZ, anyone with previous kknowledge with them mirroring US deals at EB

    G

    • Won't happen IMO.

    • Just stocking up Mop+60day gamecard for $10USD is totally worth it…. Hope the rumours are real…

  • Bought WoW =________=

  • does it come with the first month free subscription?

  • Be interesting to see what does eventuate. Would rather buy elsewhere than from Blizz.

    G

  • Not quite as expected, but still better than buying thru Blizz and being tracked :) Gamestop doesn't like my aussie postal address, ideas ?

    G

  • I don't think this deal is expired. Can someone please confirm? I think it was extended until Jan 1.

    • Im pretty sure the WOW offers are still valid, not sure about SC2

  • Deal for SC2 is still active.

To buy in US$, gift it to yourself, otherwise, you would be forced to pay $24.95 for the standard copy.
