    just wondering, if I purchase Bioshock Infinite and activate it on steam, would I get access to the mac version as well? The page shows a windows logo and the mac version is still selling for $39.99.

    According to this thread on steam forums, you would always get the pc+mac version if both are available.

    Anyone with experience care to comment?

      Go for it. The first once(Clash in the Clouds) is a bit dull(it's horde mode challenges) and VERY hard if you're a mediocre FPSer like me,but the rewards you get for completing challenges are art artifacts from the game's development in the 'Columbia Museum'(e.g old Elizabeth models and background art) and are pretty sweet.However Burial at Sea Part One with Rapture recreated is fantastic.It has an OMFG cliffhanger in prep for Part 2,which is out in February or so.Much better price than the $30 it is on Steam.

        Cheers for that, ended up picking it up and was playing Clash in the Clouds and wondering what the hell was going n with it so gave up and went onto Burial at Sea. It's enjoyable so far :-)

    For anyone interested. I was able to buy assassin's creed 3 via a VPN (routing through the US) and using my "Amazon holiday home address". The key activated just fine on Uplay.

      Yes, I successfully purchased a region restricted game by:

      1) Loading up the gamefly link using a US VPN (I have a paid VPN but I assume a free one should work) and adding the game to my cart while the VPN was activated.
      2) Checking out and signing up with a new gamefly account during checkout, using a US billing/shipping address
      3) Paying via credit card via gamefly website note I could not use my paypal account as it gave my AU address and cancelled the order. I Paid with an AU registered CC using a US billing address.

      Note I didn't need a VPN to activate the game but you should check whether the game you want has any region restrictions.

    I just found out about their Steam Box thing and now have another project to undertake to build a PC for the living room! :)

        I completely agree. I had a HTPC with an i3-2100 and an AMD 6450, then realised I wanted to play games on the 'big screen' so bought a AMD HD 7870 and haven't touched the Xbox since. I use an Xbox controller for all the games I play, so there are certain games you can't play (games that definitely require a keyboard/mouse combo) but there are ways you can get around that.

        Plus the fact games are soooo much cheaper on the PC I've easily made the money back for the video card if I had of bought the games in Xbox instead :-)

      Some of them are region locked for some reason, not sure why. You can use a VPN to get around it but they might do what they did to me and want to verify the order by talking to you. Bit of a pain in the arse really - been looking for a cheap dishonored goty version for a while!

      Clear your cookies.If you've been on the site before you enabled the VPN,it won't work.Clear your cookies and history or use C Cleaner and that will make the VPN work.

    well I ordered dishonored via a VPN and they sent me an email with an 'incident number' wanting to speak to me. I'm guessing they cottoned on to the VPN. Payment went though though so we'll see what happens.

    It's strange that Bethesda titles are subjected to the Australian tax on Gamefly but not Steam. There is a huge markup on these titles for Australians, just like there is for Civilization games on Steam :( I hate being ripped off by greedy capitalists.

      I got this too. I used a legit address for mine (a relatives) so that wasnt it. I did use a VPN though. Annoying we'll have to wait a few days for them to get onto this though.

      I suspect it isn't the VPN that is at fault but rather that you paid using an Australian credit card. Perhaps a prepaid Visa such as you can get at Australia Post or an online credit card like Entropay would work? If this works for anyone, let us all know.

      I did! I made the mistake of using an Aus ISP for my email address.(DOH!) Updated it to a gmail address and sent a reply via email telling them that was old email and confirmed I was the purchaser. Key was sent this morning without issue. I did use my real mobile number though as I don't want my credit card details sent elsewhere.
      So just make sure you don't have a localized email address and reply via email to confirm your purchase.Dishonored for under $7. Woo hoo!

    For an online store, I can't believe they still need eyeballs on every single transaction. It has happened to all 4 of my transactions with GF but this time, it's more delayed because of Thanksgiving in NA.

    Tried to apply my key for Bully but wouldn't work. Seems you have to have the VPN turned on for the key as well. Once I did that,it activated without issue.
