  I had the LG 50 Plasma and it was gorgeous for watching free-to-air which is what I do 99% of the time. We then bought the LG 55 LED 3D mentioned here. Wow I had the biggest feeling of regret when I compared the 55 LED to the 50 Plasma. I realised that for the sake of watching 3D movies, I would be sacrificing a far superior TV picture for 99% of the time. I tried to think of any possible way to keep the both TVs but in the end one had to go. The 55 seems to be tuned to delivery its best image from a bluray disc - and when we watch 3D it is unbelievable. But I still would recommend the LG 50 Plasma first. (If only my loungeroom was bigger….)

    Really good point, I use Free to Air all day and movies once a week, so for me its more sensible to get a TV that provides the best free to air experience
