Best dual SIM smartphone under $250?

Need help sourcing a dual sim phone, one with optus 3G and the other GSM would suffice. Just need something that is reliable and not too much of a pain to use.

Would prefer 4+ inch screen and dual core or above.

Where do people buy dual sim phones from? Kogan seems ok but are mostly rebranded chinaphones sold at a premium. Aldi? Lenovo?

Thanks!

You might look at a Lenovo K800. It's a fairly high end Intel Atom-based phone with a 720p display and has quad band according to GSM arena

Good price for the hardware (esp. the 16GB NAND storage and generous pixel density) BUT The major problem is outdated software… it only runs 4.0 and there doesn't seem to be a JB ROM in the works for it.

Otherwise I'd recommend the Lenovo A820, which is well known on XDA and has a few ROMS floating around

I'd recommend getting the LG Optimus L7 II

    http://www.jbhifi.com.au/phones/lg/optimus-l7-ii-black-sku-4…

Rear Camera Effective Pixels (Megapixels) 8MP
Memory Internal Memory: 4GB Expandable Memory: 32GB Micro SD
    Battery Capacity 2,460mAh
    Processor Speed 1GHz Dual Core
Operating System Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean
    Screen Resolution 480 x 800
Screen Size (Inch) 4.3" WVGA IPS

The resolution isn't as good but the IPS screen makes up for it. The phone has long battery life. 2,460mAh is huge for a phone of this size.

sounds good but LG hasnt had a great history with budget models..will read some reviews!

    • I wonder if the L7 II dual at jbhifi is a 3G 900mhz (optus) or 850mhz version? doesn't seem to say.

My wife has a LG L7 II single sim, and so far quite impressed with build quality.

      • The jbhifi stock is 2100/850

I've got the Lg L7 2 dual and I agree it's not a bad little phone.

I just invested in a Sony Xperia C tho which is much much better. I picked it up for about $300 from expansys

In my opinion, I'd spend the extra bit

Incase it's very similar, Auspost have G526 4G for $199 (On Voda so 850/2100?)
      Edit: G526 is only Dualcore

I'm thinking about Huawei G510, 4.5", Dualcore, Optus for $129(Also in Auspost current cat).
Anyone know if Huawei make great/ok/carp quality phones? Any thoughts on this model?

Also for $343 the prefered choice would be a Samsung Galaxy S3 4G. Pricematch Kogan->OfficeWorks, then use Ing 5% off giftcards = $343ish. I think a very good phone from what people say.

I have the G300 and has been flawless for me. Bonus being under $100

      • the one in optus prepaid and auspost shop isn't dual-sim though, nor is the uniquemobile one. dual-sim versions seem to be hard to find

  • Try Samsung Duo S, $150

  • Looked through 100's of hi-end tech phones & bought this one today. Thought I'd share as it may suit OP.

Aliexpress is a risky platform, but this is a quality/safe seller I believe.
This phone is for sale at many places on the net, but this is the cheapest price I could find that's not a scam.

I've read it should play latest games. Much cheaper than Samsung/Apple.

Lastly, read the description carefully for yourself, I've been wrong plenty before.

Almost worth posting as a Deal (as it's on special for US $154.74 for 2 more days).

Whoa is me, up to 60 days to wait for parcel.

    • thanks for that. i was looking around on aliexpress the other day too. was a bit put off by the no warranty part at the time
