Did you know?

If you hold down the Bluetooth button when connected to an iPhone it activates the Voice Control so you can even select your tracks by name!

This is Sennheiser’s third generation of Bluetooth headsets and takes advantage of all the latest developments available in wireless technology.

The rechargeable battery is removable and should last for two years on average, depending on usage. It is called the BA 370 PX and is easily available. To fully charge the battery via USB or mains will take about 3 hours. You can then listen to music for a full 10 hours or talk for 20 before having to re-charge!

To hear the full audio potential from your computer or audio device with a USB socket, Sennheiser recommends using the BTD 500 USB (a USB dongle accessory), to ensure the source is apt-X enabled

Sennheiser recommends this headset for…

… owners of the latest Bluetooth apt-X-enabled phones and laptops, such as more recent MacBooks, selected HTC or Samsung Galaxy music products, who would like to take advantage of their full audio capability. Also perfect for those wanting a high sound and build quality in a more convenient format.

Compatibility

The MM 500-X offers excellent compatibility with all Bluetooth apt-X-enabled mobile smartphone brands and computers.

Seems like a decent deal.

  • Is this really good? Compare with logitec u9000?

    • the reviews suggest that these are decent cans but the noise cancellation can be better.
For over $100 less that the Logitech's I think these represent good value for money.

Saying that I have the UE6000 - which are identical to the 9000 apart from the Bluetooth feature. And they sound pretty good, again the noise cancellation could be better - but at the $99 price tag ( a previous Ozbargain deal) I got them for I cant complain!

Seems noise cancellation technology still has some way to go to meet peoples requirements - Bose are leaders in this field but their gear is overpriced and doesn't sound that good.

      Tough decisions ahead! haha

      • I have Vmoda for wire but I'm specifically after wireless, this seems tick all my requirements including able to use wire when needed, aptx for my galaxy note 2, and compact. I have small head so ue9000 is too big for me.

      • +1

i picked up UE9000 for $200 during DSE F&F sale. they were also $150USD for black friday direct from logitech US (would have needed to use a forwarder).

i'm guessing logitech are discontinuing the line, so if there are still UE9000 around, you should be able to pick them up for around the $200 mark when they go on sale.

the only benefits i see for the sennheiser is removable battery, and it folds up more.

        • "i picked up UE9000 for $200" ->thats crazy price

Also is this the cheapest according to camel camel Amazon price history?

    • +1

Just above your post is the price history from Camel Camel Camel which shows amongst other details the lowest price ever which was £149.95 on Sep 09, 2013.

I'd stay away from any headphone that has to use the word "Stereo" in the title as it were some special feature.

That's like if every TV on sale today had "Colour" in their title as if it were some sort of special feature.

Besides the UE9000 is miles better and cheaper.

    • That makes heaps of sense "headphones".

Amazon.com lists thes as "Sennheiser MM 500-X Wireless Bluetooth Travel Headphones"
Amazon.co.uk lists them as "Sennheiser MM500-X Stereo Bluetooth Headset Featuring the Apt-X Codec"

So using your logic it's ok to purchase them from Amazon US but not Amazon UK but then again what does a retailers description have to do with how a product manufactured by someone else performs?

The manufacturer uses the word stereo but given they also sell mono bluetooth headsets I don't see what the problem is with providing clear guidance as to the features of a product.

Your analogy about tv's is ridiculous as black and white tv's are not readily available but mono wireless headsets are still commonly available and the other glaring difference is that it's immediately obvious when looking at the tv (online or offline) that it's colour or B&W but not so when looking at headphones.

doh, this one rrp is just USD 263 now, no wonder price is dropping at amazon. might wait for cheaper.

    • The RRP hasn't changed, they are having a sale at the moment like many other US based companies. And even if the RRP had changed the product is still the same, do you base all your purchasing decisions on the recommended retail price?

  • I haven't bought anything from Amazon UK for yonks. Is the most basic form of postage from there of the 'no-signature required upon delivery' variety?
