They've killed a fair bit of the fansubbing community and although their subs have improved I find some of their nuances questionable.
How can they be a nonprofit organisation when they need to pay for licenses?
LOL you must be one of those people who think pirating is legal.
Because this site does it through legal channels. (yes, they started out like any other site, but now they're one of the biggest anime licencers)
The "free access" you find through Google is almost certainly illegal. More importantly, going through Crunchyroll (or supporting the industry in any other way) shows that there's a growing market for anime in the west.
That's like saying "why do people subscribe to Netflix when you can just torrent movies and TV shows for free". People like to subscribe to services these days to show support and now that we all have disposable data, I prefer to stream on the fly.
Anyone know if the android app provides offline viewing?
