Our new shipment of Zimbabwean Peaberry beans has just arrived and we couldn't wait to do a deal for OzBargain. A great bean that's developing a well-deserved following due to its fantastic flavour and versatility, this premium peaberry is medium bodied with a beautiful grapefruit acidity that has a touch of cherry to it, an enticing slightly malted body with cocoa hints and a great finish that's slightly sweet and very smooth. For further tasting info, please refer to the given link.
All purchases are also roasted to order and include free postage Australia wide.

  • Anyone had this coffee and/or bought from this seller before?
    Thanks.

We are almost finished the last 1kg deal of this bean, and it's great.
    I just ordered another!
Medium in taste, and quite sweet.
It has enough flavour to cut through milk, and a great espresso.

"Just bought 1kg of beans, which last me a month :-( Please note the date and repeat the offer in a month for me :-)
      22/11/2013 - 10:55"
10 days and almost through 1Kg, that's impressive, even by my standards!

      • We'll do our best to have an offer at that time for you ;)

Had lots of folks around in the last two weeks, and the machine has been running hot!
I made a mate a flat white on Saturday, and commented on the sweetness of the bean before I pulled his shot.
He always takes a spoon of sugar with his coffee, but tried this one without sugar - he loved it.
        Another conquest :-)

    • Glad you're enjoying it Chris :)

  • I don't know, considering Zimbabwean appalling human rights and ruling situation I would be VERY reluctant to buy anything from there… But each should make their own decisions…

    • Politically, I agree. However, if there is a small chance that the poor get even a tiny amount of this purchase price for their labour in the fields, then that is good.
Better to donate to World Vision or Compassion etc. though.

      Hi Cristtos,
Firstly, thank you for having the awareness to recognise the present problems and many devastating issues facing Zimbabwe. Awareness is always appreciated and we can only hope that things improve as soon as possible. I'll cut and paste a reply that I wrote to someone last month who raised a very similar concern to yourself regarding this issue as I feel it answers many of your possible questions.
"The farm this comes from is actually one of the few remaining farms that hasn't been 'reclaimed' by the Zimbabwean government's land acquisition program. It's run by a family who has been on the same farm for nearly 50 years now in the Eastern Highlands of Zimbabwe, an amazing feat in the current environment and one that we hope continues indefinitely. It's also run using water from the nearby mountain springs which is a fantastic way to promote biodiversity and better agricultural practices. I lived in Zimbabwe in 2003/2004 before leaving and assure all our customers that under no circumstances whatsoever would we support any enterprise that in any way condones violent behaviour in Zimbabwe."
In addition to that, the farm from which this coffee comes provides some fantastic services for nearly 100 local families including education for the children and health services for both adults and children in the area, both of which can be sadly absent from this area. We believe that supporting the Zimbabwean coffee industry is vitally important because without this support, this farm amongst others will cease to operate and this will also have the deeper effect of increased poverty and decreased quality of life for those people who previously worked on these coffee farms.
Hope this helps, please feel free to raise any further questions you may have :)

I can add my BTC0.000018329921900173385 …. Still using the last Crake Valley beans and yep - they do make a good espresso. Moving house atm so I haven't tried any other extraction methods :)

    • Great to hear, gotta love a good espresso, it really brings out the richness in the flavour of these beans
