Do these have an expiry date or are they like Bunnings / Amazon with no expiry ?

If this works for the online purchase of the Nexus 5

    Making it $360 over $400

    • [no longer relevant]

Sure about that? Thought the terms and conditions pretty much ruled out Subscriptions and Devices…

      • So I can't use these to pay for my Google Play Music subscription?

        • No you can't. You can use carrier credit (such as Telstra account credit) but not Gift card credit.

    • +12

You can't buy devices on the Google play store with 'gift cards/credit'.

Good that these are finally on special.

But… cheaper on ebay, 20-25% off.

    • I just checked, you're right.
Does anyone know how this could be the case?
How does the seller get them for so cheap? Just can't really imagine Google selling them at a major bulk discount. iunno…

      • What I cant find any. did you have a link?

        • Just type in "google play" into ebay.

        • ok i was going for google play gift cards

It sounds like a lot of those sellers got their Google Play credits from this Kit Kat competition - http://kitkat.com.au/android/ - and are just trying to offload them for a quick buck.

      • Woolworths has lot of power do think give way product at 1/2 price week in week out no manufacturers are.

      • I would rather to think of it in the following way.
Google would like to encourage android device users to spend more in Google Play by discounting their gift cards; thus stimulate the app producers' enthusiasm to provide more app with better quality; and eventually stable and expand their current market share.

    • Oh thanks! I just picked up a card on ebay :D

If you do the Telstra Prepaid jig where you buy prepaid sims when they are $10 for $30 value and use them to buy Playstore content you can get up to 66.6% discount.. search the forum topics.

Note: $20 limit per transaction when paying with Telstra credit.

cheaper to get telstra $30 prepaid for $15 and use the google play credit

  • +1

Thanks OP - But I think I'll wait until these are 66% off again.

  • sometimes even 30$ telstra for 10$ rarer tho

    I lol'd at your 10char.

  • google play> itunes

    • +1

Depends what you are trying to do .. I'm finding it difficult to get the HD movies onto my TV in a convenient manner.

  • If you are on Telstra Prepaid, you can use the recharge value to pay for Google Play.

  • Finally they are catching up with iTunes.

  • Hmmmm would've been potentially cheaper to buy KitKats if the special ones were still around.

  • +3

You are freaking kidding me! Bought one at full price on the weekend as I have never seen them discounted.

What's the go with "ten words"? Am I missing something? I bet I am…

    • +1

When you post a deal you need to "talk" a little about what a bargain it is ;)

  • Bought 5 Kit Kat's for under a dollar each from Safeway. I only won a $5 voucher, but I got 5 Kit Kat's for free!

  • yeah Google play must have some discounts! That's the reason i opt out Androids……..

  • How do they get away with accepting your funds then dictating what you can and can't spend it on? Did they pick up this habit up when they worked with the Chinese on the great Firewall of China? How dare they bar you from buying a Nexus with Play Store Credit, I paid real cash to get these credits not SEA SHELLS! Somebody do something!

    • +1

Well, this is same on Apple App Store and Apple Store. You can't use those iTunes gift card credits to buy a Mac, right?

  • Whats the deal with the Telstra Prepaid cards ? ? ?

The other expired deal for Telstra $30 sim starter is full of confusing information.

Can you use it to get plain old Google Play credit without being locked into Telstra, a new prepaid phone, restrictions on what you can buy - anything else I need to worry about?

  • Thansk for the awesome tip about Ebay cards,
I bought a stack of them, very useful to know..

  • If in need of cheap credit send me a msg (Sellers on ebay apparently get taken down) - http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/125811

Have you been eating a pile of Kit Kat's? ;-)
