Legend of Zelda: A Link between Worlds (3DS) $46.94 (Inc Shipping) from Beat The Bomb

80

The new and critically acclaimed Zelda game (91 on Metacritic) is part of today's Beat the Bomb deal. Beat the Bomb is Australian based (SA) and all my purchases from them have come within a couple days of ordering.

Be aware that this is an import (UK PAL) so I'm not entirely sure what this means for Nintendo Club points.

GT6 is also available for $71.18 (inc shipping) though I haven't checked around if this is the best price.

  • The cover looks like it's the US version. Although it does state PAL in the description.

    • The only thing US about the cover in the picture is the 'RP' ESRB rating on the front (and maybe the text saying the game is playable in 2D and 3D?). Otherwise the NTSC and PAL artwork is the same. I'd say this is just an image and the rating on the actual product will be the usual UK BBFC rating with the Australian ACB rating stuck over the top. This has been my experience with all games advertised as PAL imports from BTB.

    Hey Guys,
Yes, this is the UK version. Will get the US cover art replaced ASAP. Apologies for any confusion.

    Cheers,

Well thanks a lot. Signed up to the site and now I have Rick Astley in my head.

You'll know what I mean if you sign up.

  • So a UK 3DS game will definitely work on an Australian 3DS?

I noticed it's a bit cheaper at Blockbuster - however I have heard their delivery time is terrible. Wonder if it would get here before Christmas?

      It most certainly will :)

Blockbuster and VideoEzy are based in China and have 3+ week delivery times (in my experience). I wouldn't order from them expecting it before Christmas. BTB, on the other hand, is based in Adelaide and you'll get your game in a couple of days.

    • It's $41.61 on blockbuster but that price doesn't include shipping, including shipping it's $43.61 so you are paying $3 less but have to wait 3 weeks more for delivery. Not worth the saving imho, better to go with beat the bomb.

I had planned on buying another game at Blockbuster to take it over the $60 (free shipping) but decided the kid was getting too much for Christmas as it is - plus I don't want to take the chance with slow delivery.

Ordered this morning - received notification this afternoon that it has been sent. Pretty happy with that!

        • Did you order through BlockBuster or BeatTheBomb?

        • Beat The Bomb. I didn't want to take a chance with slow delivery.

  • so whats the difference between the UK version and what we can buy in stores here?

    • The difference is that it will have a UK rating on the game, and BTB sticks the Aussie classification over the top (you find that some "Australian" PAL releases are like this anyway). The only "problem" is that you won't be able to use the Nintendo Club points - and that's only a problem if you care about them. Well, you can use them - but you'd have to send your rewards to a UK address: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/114738

Is this really easier than paying a buck more at Big W?

    • It's $48 at BIG W? Link please.

    • Sadly the sale ended last week.

Oh I see. No problem. I'll just pop into my time machine then catch the 2 buses I need to catch to get to BIG W.

That will be a lot easier than ordering it online to have it delivered to my door. Saving $1.

I didn't know that; I've been too busy playing A Link Between Worlds.
