CRMC1110

Coop is a chain that sell uni textbooks etc at uni campuses.

U can also join up or be a member which is about $20.
I was told once you can rescind you membership and get your money back anytime but im not sure thats true.
Sometimes they are cheaper than book depositry and certainly without the wait.

Im pretty sure the discount code works for members and non members.

May be handy to any uni students on ozbargain.

Received the info in. A mmbers mail.

They sell mostly books and staionery.

Note the 10% is in addition to the 10% members get off books etc
It could be a cheap way of buying the magazines and papers they offer although i bet they say at checkout 'thosearent included' despite te dealhaving no exclusions.

I see they're not teaching grammar, spelling and punctuation at Uni these days…

  • Joined Coop when I started uni and I regret it hahaha. I'd rather purchase secondhand textbooks.

    From the Co-Op FAQ:

I no longer want to be a Co-op Member, how do I withdraw my shares?
When you joined the Co-op you purchased shares in the Co-op Limited - a not-for-profit co-operative. You can sell your shares back to the Co-op and receive a refund for the amount you paid when you joined. To do this you need to have been a Member for more than 2 years

Thanks for letting me know, Definitely going to do this. Co-op bookshop is crazy expensive…

      • The Co-op was established by students at Sydney Uni as a way to provide cheap textbooks to those on campus. They give 10% discount to members, & are a not for profit organisation. Surprised you say they are expensive given they hardly make any money.

Their prices are definitely not very competitive. And this applies to all sorts of things they sell at the shop. (I was checking prices for textbooks and stethoscopes)

I wouldn't buy a thing from Co-op… unless they are selling that is subject specific that I must buy.

        • Dont get me wrong.
Staff are nice and friendly and i wishem luck.
The previous bookshop at melb uni went broke….

However they ate sually not cost competitive on price - hellthis is ozbargain!

It may be todo with lack of buying power, book dumping, amazon avoiding tax, poor distribution etc etc usual problems with oz book distribution.

I usuallydont post their sales/deals as i doubt many wud b interested but it maybe ofinterest to some student after an obscure textbook etc.
