Pretty self explanatory. $0.98 shipped to Aus. Not sure if it has an expiry date. Apparently 87% off - possibly inflated original price but for under a dollar it's still worth it.

  • It looks like a counterfeit copy of a Belkin.

They even copied all the markings including Belkin's Electrical Safety Approval supplier number.

  • it says 99usd for me :)

Change currency to AU$ and it actually goes down to AU$0.98 - not sure why but hey, who cares? :-)

This seems better as it's got 2.1A output. Charges devices faster!
Just bought this with 3.1A output!

All of these Dual USB Car Chargers are actually the same output. One 2.1Amp and one 1.0Amp outlet. Equals 3.1Amps total.

However, one must exercise caution with these 'cheap' devices. All of them. All three so far mentioned in this thread - including the 1Amp one in the OP.

They are counterfeit copies of Brand Name devices. The interior circuitry and components in these 'lookalikes' are not the same as those in the Brand Name ones. The Approvals/Certifications printed on the plastic cases are false/fakes - even if, in some cases, they include the old Australian safety logo and/or suppliers number.

I have learned my lessons and now only purchase legitimate 'Brand Name' chargers (both car and home ones) from reliable retailers here in Australia - preferably when 'on-sale'.

    • What lesson did you learn? What happened to the device you were charging ?

      • What lesson did you learn?

        Lessons.
        1) Not to import illegal devices (12v or 240v) that do not legitimately carry the required Safety Certification(s) and Supplier Number.

        2) Not to purchase, in Australia, illegal devices (12v or 240v) that do not legitimately carry the required Safety Certification(s) and Supplier Number.

What happened to the device you were charging ?

        1) In the cases of the Car Chargers, nothing bad happened to the 'devices' connected to the chargers.

a] Some Single Port chargers would not charge some iPhones - eg. OK for 3GS but not for iP4 or iP4S, or OK for iP4 but not for iP4S, or not for iP5. My guess is that the 'output' ratings were false. That is, not actually 1Amp.

b] Some Single Port chargers constantly, but randomly, 'blew' the car 'cigarette lighter' fuse.

c] A couple of Single Port chargers 'self destructed'.

d] Some Dual Port chargers would not charge two of some models of iPhone at the same time - eg. OK for 2 x 3GS and for 3GS and iP4, but not for iP4 and iP4S, and not for iP4S and iP5.

e] No Dual Port Car Chargers 'blew' fuses or 'self destructed'.

        2) In the cases of the 240v Wall Chargers - Single Port and Four Port.

a] In some cases the device being charged (iPhone) acted erratically. Eg. touch screen went 'crazy' while phone was attached to charger.

b] In some cases the phone being charged seemed to be getting very warm.

c] In some cases the Wall Charger became very warm - I would even say hot.

d] In one case a Four Port Wall Charger self destructed. No flames, or sparks, but a bad smell.

e] A few Single Port Wall Chargers could not charge later model iPhones (iP4S, iP5). I suspect their output ratings were false.

f] Some Four Port Wall Chargers could not charge four iPhones at the same time. Some could only manage charging two devices, some three.
