    • "All Gift Cards must be redeemed instore before 31/01/14" !!!

    • Holy hell. Anything left?

      • Yeah this is an average, Myer-esque deal from DJs. Disappointing because they've been great lately.

I don't see the point in offering an average saving with massive exclusions - it just pisses people off when their items don't qualify.

    • +2

Perhaps they should have had an inclusions list…

    • Do you have a copy of the actual offer? I received my $50 gift card as 5x $10 gift cards, all with expiry 31/12/13!!??

That means I have less than two weeks to redeem?

  • +2

One of the exclusions is "Electronics Powered by Dick Smith", which is the official name of David Jones' electronics department ever since DSE started running it: http://www.smh.com.au/business/retail/dick-smith-to-run-djs-…

Does this mean the entire electronics section is excluded, or just DSE-branded products? (Does DJ even sell DSE-branded products?)

    • +3

It would be everything in the electronics dept or else you'd expect to see Apple on that list

      • +1

        That blows

  • Can confirm Apple products don't qualify. Just tested the online checkout with a MacBook, and then with $500 of clothes added. The voucher popped up with the latter, but not with the former.

    Ordinary deal.

  • -3

Ordinary deal because it excludes the product you were after?

  • So what can I buy?

  • i am after dyson.. i cant see that in the exclusion list.. having missed out on all the dyson deals over the weekend.. they have DC59 for $571.. wonder if could use the $50 gift card as part of the purchase itself?

    • Looks like the gift cards are given to you after you purchase.

. The Bonus Gift Card will be sent to the delivery address for the qualifying order

      • that could be for online purchase.. what about instore? hmm..

        • I doubt they're going to allow you to subsequently refund $50 worth onto your CC, then pay with the gift voucher. But you can try. :)

  • do you think this can be use with the amex $50 credit back for purchase over $250?

    • +1

Yes. If only you purchase something that is NOT in the exclusion list.
So that you can combine both promos.

  • I just did a $350 purchase yesterday using my AMEX …. damn. Bad timing on my behalf. Could have got the $50 AMEX deal and a $30 voucher.

  • thanks, was looking for a juicer at david jones (its on sale already) and this just sweetened the deal.

  • Use the "Welcome" code to take $10 off as well.

The Magimix 3200XL is currently marked down to $539, so total price was $529. You can get it cheaper online but I should get $50 from Amex (registered for the $50 off $250) and the $50 of vouchers from DJs makes it $429. And you can get "a bonus Dicing and French Fry Kit valued at $199 via redemption" ($20 shipping and handling). Decent deal for a decent mixer….

The vouchers have a short lifespan, so I plan to go in to DJs and use them in the boxing day sales.

Wear your boxing gloves if going to boxing day sale at DJs Sydney city.

  • +1

After this $50 (gift cards) + WELCOME + TREATME5 and the $70 discount off the Dyson DC59, the total discount becomes $135 before the AMEX deal, which is a tad more than the 20% off from Myer last week… Might do it.

  • +1

I think it might be easier if they gave us a white list of accepted brands.

  • Thanks. There is a pair of cuff links I was looking at for $330. Will mean I get $50 + $30 back after when mixed with the Amex deal.

    • Just got back from DJs. Cufflinks were actually $310 and so I just apportioned $250 onto Amex 1, $60 onto Amex 2 and then bought $190 worth of gift cards on Amex 2 to also hit $250.

      End result:
      $30 gift card
$50 x 2 Amex deal back to me
      Priceless :-)

      • +1

I've never looked at the price of cufflinks, but it astonishes me they can be $330.

        • +1

This is what I bought: US$295 or AU$310 (in DJ)
          http://www.tateossian.com/product/4378/rt-mechanical-tourbil…

Most of my cufflinks are Tateossian and I have quite a nice collection now. Enough for me to stop buying more for a while anyway. :-)

They also have a new range at DJs for up to AU$2000 a pair so $310 is nothing compared to that. It is basically two gold nuggets and not worth the price.

          Regards
          Daniel

  • thanks just got the neo juicer for $434 - $50 AMEX -$40 DJ vouchers
