Visa and MasterCard accepted, American Express not accepted.
I just booked a flight on VA, selected PayPal as my payment option and to my surprise, no booking and service fee was added. According to their fee schedule, they charge a fee for PayPal so either it is an error or they have changed their stance and haven't updated the schedule yet.
Enjoy!

Bookings fees, transaction fees, service fees etc are just a load of sh#t to offset low fares.

When the hell are we going to get rid off this crap?

    • They're a proprietary business, you don't need to fly with them.

As you even said yourself, by offering low fares they'll inevitably pass on costs that they incur if you choose to use a costly payment method.

True. But why not start with free flights and just pay a "distance surcharge"?

These fees are a load of shit.

Yes but if you pay by the free fee method you win. It is always possible to pay the advertised fare, and not a cent more.

  • Yeah maybe cos they don't appear from that schedule to accept poli then this is their fee free option? But I think it might still be in breach of the rules as they have not advised customers of which method is fee free - in order to be able to advertise at the fee free fare.

Just did a brummie booking, $7.70 fee was added when PayPal was selected. Probably just a glitch/code error for a specific set of booking condition / selections.

  • Anyone else think that using poli is insecure and put liabilities on our side?

    • I have used POLi before, not recently though, as the banks aren't a fan of the service.

NAB: "Customers are covered for any fraudulent transactions when it's clear they didn't contribute to the loss". You may not be covered by your bank if POLi contributes to the fraudulent transactions.

    Yay. I saved $7.70 for my $1000 + flight!

Fee applies to all bookings I've tried.

  • I tried this yesterday with two bookings. Booking made with FF = no booking fee. Booking made without FF = booking fee. Can't comment if this is correlation or coincidence.

  • To avoid virgin cc fee, i pricematch it with expedia :)
