Honestly had my reservations with Turkish Airlines given the reports of average customer service.

Flew them Istanbul to Montenegro and was pleasantly surprised, blows Qantas away.
Even had IFE on every seat on an A320. Food was great as well for a 1.5-hour flight.

You can see where there's gaps in their service - not quite as polished overall as the majors, but still would fly with them again.

Plus their Istanbul hub lounge is up there with SIA, probably even pips Emirates IMHO.

Qantas is lagging behind so much its not funny.

    • 1.3 out of 5 vs 1.5 out of 5…

      your bar is set low…

    • My experience with them wasn’t good. The crew is actually very nice and was doing their best but the aircraft, especially the newer cabins surprisingly, was quite poor.

The legroom was probably the biggest problem, bordering on unusable, my knees were touching the seat in front of me fully upright and I couldn’t extend my legs when I reclined because the seat in front of me was too low. Granted I am tall (6’2) but this was by far the worst seat I sat on including many budget airlines

Food was also pretty below average and it was so scares, they almost had 1:1 meal to people with no spares and no snacks outside of pretzels and no drinks out unless you asked for it.

Just overall as bad a budget airline with premium prices.
