A quick google image search of the SKU's of the 2140s linked

    BLUE: https://www.google.com.au/search?q=RB2140+355971&safe=off&es…

    PINK/PURPLE: https://www.google.com.au/search?q=RB2140+355971&safe=off&es…

Sorry about the links, Myer website is down as of writing.

GREY and BROWN 4195s also cheap

Sorry to sound stupid but as these for guys or girls or uni?

I always get confused with sunglasses

      • I think different sizes are for small or big faces depends. Without knowing the actual model, it's hard to tell I find, but Rays are my faves. I see these are rated 2. Last time asked about ratings, I was told that glasses for driving are rated 3.

      • The Wayfarer looks good on both men & women. 50mm is considered medium size Wayfarer - they also come in 54mm large(not sure whether this size is on sale)

    • Got the grey ones for 71.98. The browns however would not scan through with 70% off. Looks like it only applies to the greys

    • I picked up some 4195s in grey at my local OPSM. There was no sale sticker on them, but they came up on the computer at the sale price. Glad I got them to check. Very happy. :)

Strange, from the main rayban page it says the black ones are on special too.
Maybe they are on special in the store?

    • Be nice

      • And.. Turns out they're not.

  • Some great deals to be found

  • +1

Are there any specials on the black frame ones? Blue seem a bit…

Were you looking for the word METRO?

  • Cheers OP. Scored a bargain just now.

  • Some good bargains on the OPSM site:
These Persols are a good deal(only available in store though)

      • Agree, i went in store and they looked like ass in person.

    • Couln't find the photos anywhere on the net. Thanks for posting.

  • I agree, this is a fantastic sale.

    Got these yesterday: http://www.opsm.com.au/mens-sunglasses/PRADA-PR-61LS-/679420…

Even on sale they're still overpriced IMO

        • +2

Thanks for the links, never knew that and very informative, thanks guys!!

They might still be overpriced, but it's the illusion of the brand ;) And OPSM has the best price, at $135 delivered, that's awesome. I don't think I'll ever get them at $30, so it's a good deal.

Great links. Eye-opening… sorry. I'll never forget what my science teacher told me 20 years ago. A pair of $5 lenses will protect your eyes. the rest is just mark up.

        • I got my OPSM box and on my invoice it says, Luxottica trading as OPSM.

          The box had Luxottica's address.

          :)

  • Bought one Rayban 3477 in store this morning. Thanks OP.

  • Thanks so much OP.

Bought one pair today thanks to your tip.

  • Polarized Green or grey lens 59mm Black frame Aviator.

  • I have chosen a pair and will buy it. But does anyone have any suggestions on where to get the prescription lenses for them (cause the lenses here are not on special)?

    • The ones I wanted weren't available for delivery so I called up. Called my local store and asked if all I have to do is provide my script and they'd make them up and then I also confirmed the price.

The lady I was speaking too was really nice but perhaps a bit…vague. She answered yes to all my questions though.

Can anyone confirm that the advertised prices do or don't include prescription lenses? I thought it was to good to be true.

I went to several OPSM stores and the optometrists were quite keen to stress to me that prescription lenses would cost somewhere in the range of $250 to $300, ON top of the cost of the spectacles. They will try to get you to make lenses by saying that if you do it when you buy the frame, you get the official lenses from the manufacturer. For example if you got a pair of Ray bans, you can only get original prescription lenses when you do it together with the purchase of the sunnies.

My take on it? I'll get the lenses from your local optometrist for cheaper and stencil in the white Ray bans lettering if you want people to recognise where you got your shades from!

    • If you're a member of Costco they have a pretty good optometry department offering fairer prices compared to the exorbitant amount OPSM wants. From memory somewhere in the $40 range.

  • can i get prescription lenses fitted on any sunglasses?

    • I'm not sure if all the models can be fitted with prescription lenses. The sales assistants at Myers told me that the Ray Bans models with an "Rx" on the right hand side of the label, can be fitted with prescription lenses.

  • OPSM told me that Ray Bans HAVE to fit their own lenses or some such very expensive nonsense. I'm very fond of my existing frames, but they would not allow me to have lenses fitted unless I bought new frames, "it's a new thing", they said.

    • Sounds very close to third line forcing to me and absolute rubbish.
Buy the frames and take them to another optometrist to fit prescription lenses. Check that the frames are suitable for your prescription first.
