Looking for a Energy and Gas Provider in Ringwood, VIC 3134

Where is the cheapest/best place to go? I've been scrolling through so many websites and I';ve not been able to find any gas prices.

Thanks!

Hey Nobel, while it may not be relevant to you, here is a link to a thread of a spreadsheet I created for comparing suppliers in NSW. Some may apply to you, but at the very least, it may give you an idea of what companies offer in NSW and who is cheapest, and then how you can compare them in Victoria.

There are many Victoria followers on here, and those who have posted on the forum below. The current consensus seems to be Red, and I would highly recommend that from NSW as well.

I know the Red referrals can also be interstate, so happy to help with a referral if you go that route for the $50 gift card. The customer services reps are also the same, so I'd be happy to provide the name and extension of the associate who helped me a couple of weeks ago, and I know he has been good at honoring their $100 credit deal right now (see forum).

    Hope that helps!

    Cheers!

    • You're really fishing hard for that referral incentive but making outlandish statements like the one below is really disheartening I saw your post and no poster states that they are EXPLICITLY from VIC, the main vibe I was getting was from NSW customers.

Your spreadsheet is good but NSW rates (with minuscule diff in rate charges for some reason) are regulated while VIC rates are varied for the provider.

OP do your own research as well as taking peoples comments on board.

Thanks for the feedback, Kanga. I guess I thought I remembered many Melbourne-followers mention their Red recommendations.

I really couldn't care less about the referrals…I put a lot of hardwork into my research, so you'll notice I also said to just use the spreadsheet as a guide for making your own spreadsheet for your state. I'm just trying to make this process easier for others, but I appreciate your criticism. Sorry to any who thought I was putting the referral over any sound advice. This is honestly not the case.

        • Apologies if I came out too hard, you did great work on your spreadsheet so you do deserve any referrals coming your way if anyone used it. Thanks for your hard work! :)

I'm in outer sth east (narre warren) and am with Lumo for both Gas and Electricity (have been since April). I've found them to be efficient, reliable and to provide a good deal. I receive a 20% discount for my electricity and 15% for my gas if I pay on time.

    My rates are:
Electricity: .27c/kwh/day and .99c/day service to property charge

Gas: .017 / .015/MJ/day and .56/day service to property charge

There were some other arrangements to do with contract which I don't recall (maybe it was 1 year contract with a fee of $80 if I wanted to change provider? Also, some incentive kind of arrangement which gives me a loyalty card to use with certain retailers online - don't actually recall the details of this either.

It may not be the cheapest - but we are paying considerably less than we did at our last place(in the same suburb) when we were with Origin and AGL. And I know that i now pay very promptly as an incentive to obtain the discount on the total cost of the bill for each cycle.

I'm sure I used an online energy comparison service via the Victorian Govt. Just can't recall the details for you, sorry.

    good luck with your choice.

Is that a new rate from 24/01/2014? Ex Gst or Inc GST? I only got 13% off from Lumo Gas and Electricity.

      The rate from 24/01/13
Elec $0.2738/kWh and service to property $0.8999/day (all ex GST)
Gas $0.019162/Mj and 0.016402/Mj and service to property $0.6215/day

Do you think I should renegotiate with Lumo?

This is the website to use. It is a Government website so there is NO bias
    http://www.yourchoice.vic.gov.au/

    • I tried that site & used 3015 which is my postcode & Jemena as my distribution company, but i cant seem to work out which is the cheapest/best deal for me. I'm currently with Alinta Energy but there customer service isnt that good. The only reason i joined up with them was that i needed to pick somebody asap & they have no contracts. Anybody able to help me find a cheaper/better deal?
