  • Don't waste ur money - no evidence for any benefits

"It's clear fish oils don't improve heart health," Grey told Reuters Health. "People can safely discontinue fish oil supplements, and focus on pursuing health behaviors with proven efficacy."

Sales of fish oil supplements in the U.S. rose from $425 million in 2007 to over $1 billion in 2012, according to data from Euromonitor International, a market intelligence firm. The supplements can be bought over the counter for a couple dollars per month.

Omega-3 fatty acids, found in fish and fish oil supplements, are considered to be important for a healthy diet. But they don't appear to help prevent major health problems for most people." - Journal of American Medical Association December 2013.

Much better & cheaper option to improve heart health - regular exercise, good diet etc. Pretty much the same for arthritis.

    Pharmacist.

  • I read an article today that said fish oil reduces risk of prostate cancer, and another that reckons it increases risk!!?? Google is a good source of information but a lousy source of knowledge.

My mum swears by fish oil capsules for relieving her arthritis. I just shop around for the best value omega 3. Not sure why you've decided on Puritan? That's a US website.

I'm going to stick with my last supplier - price hasn't changed since April:
