Nokia 515 - any in Australia stocking these?

Is there anyone in Australia stocking the Nokia 515?

If not, is DWI a reliable grey market source?

[I want a well-constructed phone that I can use for talk and text, only need to charge once a week, and won't need upgrading in 18 months, hence I'd rather pay $190 for this than get a $200 smartphone]

  • Feature phones never ever need upgrading… since all they do is talk and text, and run very basic operating systems and don't become slower with each OS update, they have extremely long life cycles.
The usable life of these phones are usually limited by the battery — over time you will have to buy a new battery replacement, by which time you may be better off buying a completely new handset anyway.

I still have an E72 from 2009 and it hasn't missed a beat — a bloody amazing phone too.

Kogan and MobileCity stock the phone but they are all grey market imports. However, I wouldn't be too keen to spend $199 for a feature phone, since $65~100 will get you a very similarly specced Nokia Asha device, although you may not get a 5 megapixel camera or the Gorilla glass screen.

  • Got the Nokia 301 (locked to Optus, works with my TPG sim) for $69 from Officeworks. The only difference is 3.2mp camera against the 5.0mp. I can take awesome panoramic photos with it too, and cant complain about it. i do hope these candybar phones continue also.
