Depending on your budget i would check out the super amart website for a bed. If your budget is around $1000 and you're after wood(mdf) super amart would be the way to go. They have very nice bed suites on special however some in limited availability on the website. I personally purchased a vex 4 piece but it's not on the website anymore, but it might be worth calling around if you want a blackish mdf suite. It's looks real nice in person. Price was $669.
As for the Mattress i guess buy the one that feels best for you :) I bought mine from forty winks they have some pretty decent deals on Mattresses, however bed suites seem to start at $3000+ there. I bought a plush sealy mattress for $639 delivered and that's after checking out every single bedding store for beds up $2000 which was my budget.
I know now - I bought an ensemble from HN that was supposed to be top of the line but it started sinking after a few weeks. I'm pushing for a refund but they might only let me replace it with a different one from their store…
