Hi all,

Today on Amazon they have Mass Effect 2 along with all its DLC for $29.99 US (from $50.96).
What's particularly worthwhile is that the DLC comes as Bioware Points codes which total 2,480 points. These points can be used on any Bioware DLC, including Dragon Age and Mass Effect 3.

Also, This deal works with the Amazon $5 holiday promotional credit if you have any.

Note: Bioware DLC rarely goes on sale (last time was maybe Christmas 2011).

  • Thanks for posting, but at $25 this dlc pack is still a huge rip off. The shadow broker dlc is the longest here and it can be finished in less then an hour, while the shadow broker was decent quality wise the other dlc's were just phoned in pieces of crap.

  • The DLC for Mass Effect 2 was great! The price for this isn't bad as 1600 points by themselves on Origin cost $20, so the value for this is roughly $31.

As the OP says Bioware Points never go on sale (once in the US) so if you want cheaper points, this is the time to get them.

  • This is a great deal for those who haven't played ME2. The basic game regularly goes on sale for $5, but there was never a GOTY version and the DLC never goes on sale, so this is probably the cheapest you'll ever see the full thing going for.

I've been waiting on a sale on Bioware points FOREVER to get the Mass Effect 3 DLC. It's the same situation with 2: $5 game with $40 of DLC (or more if you don't get the deluxe edition). Unfortunately, 2480 Bioware points isn't enough for all of 3's DLC, and I don't need another copy of 2, so I'll just have to keep waiting.

    • This would still be cheaper than buying the points alone, but yeah I harass Origin about the complete lack of Bioware Points sales on facebook and twitter every chance I get. They love promoting their great sales (which aren't great, but moving along) and completely ignore the fact that the DLC is insanely expensive.

      • That's the idea unfortunately, have noticed that more and more companies are moving to something like razor and blade marketing, where the base game goes on sale for relatively cheap but the DLC/Season Pass rarely goes on sale

      • The DLC is how they recoup lost profits from sales on the main game. Kind of like Vita memory cards.

    • cheapest ever? its not that old…

  • Damnit, I just bought some BioWare Points yesterday.

  • More expensive than the game..

The whole trilogy was going for $10 a couple of weeks ago.

    • True, but the trilogy doesn't include all dlc.

      • But it includes maybe an order of magnitude more hours of content than the all the DLC combined…

In terms of $ per hour, the DLC is poor value compared to the main game, even if the main game was full price and not $5.

        • Yes, the DLC is poor value, no one's disputing that. Most DLC is.

I really liked the Mass Effect games, though, and as of yesterday I have the majority of DLC's for the trilogy. I see it as a worthwhile investment for a universe I'll be spending hundreds of hours in. Sometimes you don't have to buy or not buy things based on their $/hour value. For anyone actually interested in buying the DLC, the comparison in value is irrelevant.

        • It still would have been nice for a sale on DLCs. They do sales on everything else, just not DLC even after this many years.

I loved the series as much as you, but in terms of quality of content (not just quantity) the main game > DLC.

You can see a lot of shortcuts taken in the DLCs, where your squad mates don't have much dialog. Arrival for example is done completely solo, presumably so they don't have to record lines for 14 VOs (I didn't see any story reason why this mission could not have included two other dudes with you unlike every other mission in the game).

ME3 DLC adds up to $50, and I don't perceive the DLC to be worth that much in value. So for me, value does matter. I think for ME1, Pinnacle station is skippable. For ME2, I can do without Firewalker and Overlord. LotSB was worth it though.

For ME3, Citadel and From Ashes are must haves, the other two not so much.

The Bioware points thing pisses me off. Just sell it to me for real money like with the Origin store. Don't make me buy points that will leave me with leftover points that I can't spend because I have to buy them in set values. If I can't spend the points I'm left with, they may as well be free money for Bioware/EA because they're useless.

        • They've had sales before for both xbox and PS3 Mass Effect DLC, but never for PC. Luckily for me I've managed to get most of the ME DLC, along with ME3 itself, for free (totally legit, not pirated). I refuse to buy more points to get the last few DLC packs though until they're reasonable with the pricing.

Who in their right mind would spend US $30 (or US $25) on this? Seriously can't believe it's even been posted.

    • People who want all of the DLC. If you want it, you're going to have to pay. I don't think it's worth it, but what choice do you have? It's not going to be cheaper anywhere else any time soon.

The PS3 copy came with all except Arrival.
