I have decided to grab one of these to try and keep our Labrador's shedded fur from drifting around the house in between 'proper' vacuums. Could just be a gimmick, but they look cool so I'm keen to give it a go. ;) The online reviews seem positive too.
Seems like a decent price, requires no haggling and includes free shipping to your door. Not sure how long the sale is on for.

I'm using a Neato XV-21 pet and allergy version, bought from Amazon, and I'm really happy with the unit, to the point where we can't live without it. It does the job and I'm sure the Roomba is pretty good too, provided you keep the floor clear of things that the robot can get entangled in. Can't comment on the Roomba since I've not used one, but there is a difference in the navigation algorithms - personally, I liked the Neato because it constructs a map of the room as it goes along, leading to less confusion and bumbling. There are reports that Neato has had issues with quality control but I haven't encountered any major issues personally. My unit is about 6 months old now. You have to clean out the hair that gets entangled in the brushes regularly (pretty much after every clean really).
Yeah, I guess. But I thought it was ok for local stock with no voltage issues to worry about.

Don't worry. Roombas are great. I love mine! Just make sure you clean it out after every use.
Just to update - received the Roomba yesterday morning, pretty quick turnaround once ordered I must say (well done Kambos). Have run it twice now and it seems to be doing a decent job. Certainly fills its modest catch tank with ease and running time is great 1hr plus before hunting for its docking station - but it is frustrating to watch, with very random movements and patterns. Oh well, I don't really plan on watching it much and we'll still be doing a 'proper' vacuum weekly to get more complete coverage, so it will serve a purpose of keeping the mess at bay during the week. :)
