Kinect advice - Preowned vs New

Saw the preowned Kinect Essentials pack at EB Games for $108; incluides 3 games, one wireless controller and remote

What would members say about buying a used sensor? The three games are definitely good value (Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Forza Motorsport 4, Gears of War 3)

Not a heavy gamer but would not like to have issues with the Kinect experience due to a used sensor.

Also wondering whether its worth waiting for a deal on new Kinect pack.

  • EB give a pretty decent warrenty with used stuff, just ask them about it.
I !!!think!!! I got 3 months when I bought a used one (may have been my own one I traded in).

A lot of the issues you have with the kinnect sensor are unlikely to be 2nd hand related, lol.

In saying that, I found it pretty good with Fable: The journey, kinect adventures and nike+ training.

  • I would recommend you save your money, I found Kinect to be really poor. There's a reason it's the butt of so many jokes.

A lot of the used Kinects that I've seen come from EBG are in as new condition, I would have no hesitation! Grab the used one without power adapter if you have an E or S model, the USB has ample power for it; unlike the old pudgy models! ;)

IMHO a lot of them are likely ex-bundled units never even used…a mate never even unpacked his before on-selling the Kinect (albeit on ebay) last year.

my kinect became dead to me once it took a picture of me rafting off a cliff in kinect adventures and then called me a snow angel! but yeah, buying instore from EB you can't go wrong, its mostly barely used and you can check it over yourself!

  • I picked up a 'used one' which looked brand new, but without retail packaging. $36

    Works fine, but is white.

      Racist.
