Club Jetstar $39: $30 Flight Voucher if You Join before 31 January 2014

20

Not a bad deal if you join before the 31st of Jan as you get the voucher. The current discounts are

*Free upgrade on car rental
*Save over 50% on first year annual fee on the Jetstar Platinum MasterCard
*10% on travel insurance

These deals aren't the best but it changes so there should be some good deals eventually

I personally think it's a bit rich from Jetstar to charge $39 annually for the privilege of ticking yes to their marketing campaigns, that they will still advertise to the broader public via email, tv and social media.

I guess the $30 voucher lessens the blow but you're still paying $9 over and above.

The other 'benefits' you can find daily here on this website, ie. credit card offers, cheap airfares, free upgrades and best of all its free.

      good perspective

    • where does it mention free upgrades?

do members get specials on all fares compared to regular members? or only when there is a special club sale?

      • Main benefit - Member Only sales 4/yr

I joined last year to see what kind of fares I could get as I do travel to Sydney fairly frequently and using Jetstar CC is quite a saving in terms of fee. However, you need to be fairly flexible and spontaneous to make these offers useable. I won't be renewing my membership this year.

    • Agreed. It's a lot like the tigerair version, which pretty much boils down to "you get to see the sales a day before the public".

There are more than enough sales that I don't feel the need to pay to be told earlier.

I also suspect there is a lot of marketing towards the idea that to get your value out of this you would want to get the mastercard and rent through them etc etc - they are effectively making money at both ends of this "deal".

  • seems lame, would rather book through expedia japan and get $50% off most times i book

    • Not the case for most flights these days, haven't had any of my flights be cheaper through that method for a few months now.
