    • a bit different, this one comes with 3 months free.

  • It's either $100 bonus credit or 3 months free. Well, almost the same value if your get pro rate first bill.

    • +2

omg, y did everyone neg your comment blinda - not like you said anything wrong. if your first bill is pro rata'd then it will probably work out to be the same.

  • +3

you guys are a bit rough, the guy's posting a better deal than what you guys posted yourselves.

    • +1

Agreed, better deal than your previous posted. I'll make it even for your -ve even though I don't like 3 services.

  • Ouch, I joined this plan last week :(

This one is hassle free and cheaper. So positive from me.

  • 28MB of Memory, are you kidding me? lol. If you are not into the memory stuff then it's a fine deal :)

  • DAMN YOU THREE!!…11 months to go…

  • hmm. I just signed up for it like 2 days ago, when it was still the 50 dollars off first bill blah blah, have not yet received the phone, I wonder if I should refuse to accept it when it arrives, and then sign up for another one of these 3 months thing off first… or I wonder if they'll just change it over the phone if I rang them when the new phone arrives into 3 months free. This is rather annoying to see this like 2 days after signing up.

PS Blinda the 100 off code still works with this new 3 months thingy. Does anyone know if the code means 100 off your first bill and only your first bill, or does it carry over?

    • If you new to three, I think you still hv time to cancel it before delivery. They prob doing credit check at this stage.
The 100 credit will be carried over.

    • ranma, the 100 code still works but you will notice that once you add the 100 off code in checkout the 3 free months dissappears - you can't do both.

as for whether they'll let you cancel or not im not sure, though i suggest that rather than waiting for the phone to arrive, you ring them asap and tell them now that you want to either cancel or have your bonus 3 months applied. however as i mentioned above, you cant have both 100 off and 3 months free so if you got 100 off already then dont sweat it for $17 if they refuse to change your account on the basis that you have already entered into a contract with them on previous terms before the new promotion came into play.

      • Rejecting the phone and contact 3 care after that will cancel it. If you accept it and turn it on, contract started. This is what 3 care told me in the past.

      • Blinda and ccrap (it's funny that I refer to you as something along the lines of "Mr. Crap"), thanks for the speedy responses hey.

Well I signed up with 50 off the first bill, and then the extra 100 dollars off.. so.. are you telling me that perhaps then that all this value will get carried over? Maybe then it's better than the 3 months off? Like.. if the first bill is 39, then the 50 takes care of that… what do you reckon will happen with the remaining 111?

Also, I signed up using moneybackco.. think I'd be getting the moneyback?

Man.. 3 months plus 100 bucks carried over.. that would've been something amazing.

        • no probs :)

I signed up with 50 off the first bill, and then the extra 100 dollars off.

umm, just so you know, those 2 promotions weren't stackable, just like these two aren't (3 mnths free and 100 off). once you applied the 100 off code in the cart the 50 off changed to 100 off, not 150 off.

are you telling me that perhaps then that all this value will get carried over?

yes, the 100 gets applied on your first bill as a credit, then any charges you incur are deducted from it as time goes on. so if you only spend $39 a month it will last you 2.5 full billing months.

        • Ranma, you are day dreaming….

These 2 promo are not stackable!!

It's either $100 off or 3 months free.
If I were you, just accept the deal you put thru and ask them to pro rate your first bill.

          • @Blinda: Haha… hey, every boy gets to dream once in awhile, ok?? :)

So I have to ask them to pro-rate it? Don't they just do that?

Any idea about the mbc payment? Scotty? Does that still work? Or am I.. dreaming? :P

            • @ranma: This part is real. :-)

If you dunt call them to pro rate, they'll just charge full $39. Mostly likely you will join in the mid of a billing cycle

  • I have noticed that the 8707g actually has a 80MHz Qualcomm 3250 chipset, which sounds very slow but runs at a surprisingly acceptable speed most of the time.

  • Got this last time, with the $100 off and the referal $25 off.
with the same about of calls and data.
normal cost $79 with data pack monthly fee comes to the same $39 a week
$350 calls and 3gig of data
The phone is old and pretty much useless for the 3gig of data. is pretty slow and browser is poor. phone is bulky
the blackberry pack means you have unlimited data through blackberry servers anyway.

Still the best plan going around though.

  • Can someone confirms that this comes with a BIS plan?
Also are the 3 gig part through BIS or normal data?

I joined vodafone with the blackberry storm a while ago and this offer is the best if someone has got the handset already. I still have a whil to go though. I wonder if these offer will still happen after three merges with Voda.

  • Yes this comes with:

Three's $49 cap plan, get to choose a "news&weather pack, or entertainment pack or sports pack" included.
Three's X-series ultimate 40 pack, includes 3gig's of mobile broadband data.
Blackberry $30 plan, unlimited blackberry using the blackberry browser (Limited to 50MB).

All this for $39!!!!!! Minus whatever extra's you get.

This is the BEST DEAL EVER FROM 3!

  • +1

I wonder how many OZbargainers are on this plan.
Indeed, it's the best plan. Having it for over 3 months, very happy.

    • Do you use all your credits??

Ive been on it for 3 weeks and I have no idea how I'll use all my credits. "You have used $ 12.65 of your $ 350 Cap and have $ 337.35 left. You can use up to $ 100.00 of this on international calls. "

Was on a $29 plan prior to this. Never used that up too lol.

Only good thing about this pack is the 3gig's of mobile broadband. (well for me)

      • I finish pretty close to $350 mark….
Make more calls. Get in touch with some old friends, parents or enven Ex.

    • Been on the plan for 2 months now..

Also use phone as a modem with my netbook, which is fine for streaming youtube videos / chatting on MSN..

Very good plan, use ~ $300 worth of cap and ~250 of free minutes each month.

Have just installed opera mini on the phone which is great for browsing some websites that bb can't handle such as.. smsglobal.

Go with buckscoop for the cash back. moneybackco rips you off with annual fees!

  • Hi PPls,
I signed up on the previous deal for the BBeery 8797G as an existing customer. There was a first three months at half price deal at that time. However, I have been calling customer care for like 5 times and still cant get them to honour that offer. Anyone else had the same experience?
    Thanks.

  • Hello there…

Just want to check if this plan can be use with an iphone 3g as in I get phone and just swap sims?.Will I get the 3gigs data with the iphone?…also I went through the checkout but it only lets me add the phone as a second service as I am already a customer, I want to keep my number. Is there a way to get this as a replacement for my existing account? thank you very much.

  • If anyone's still following this, we've received the Blackberry 8707g, and I've come across this setting: Under Options, go to Mobile Network, then there's a Data Services selection with three settings.. ON, OFF, and OFF WHEN ROAMING. I've since set it to OFF WHEN ROAMING, and judging from the looks of searching on the web, this setting pretty much makes sure that you don't use data services when you've hopped onto the Telstra's 2G network. So hopefully that solves that, but will keep people updated if anyone asks.

ALSO, the 8707g is basically NOT compatible as a modem with MAC OS notebooks. There are workarounds and all that, but right now it is a major pain trying to sort this shit out. When I signed my girlfriend up for this, I told her that it would be usable as a modem for her notebook, and now I better make sure that it happens. So if you're not a tech/IT person, I do NOT suggest getting this phone if you were hoping to use it as a modem for your mac.
