Injustice Gods Among Us on WiiU - $14.99!

410

Please note WiiU titles are not compatible with the standard Nintendo Wii

Mortal Kombat developers NetherRealm Studios bring their distinct fighting style to Injustice: Gods Among Us, presenting a kind of fighting game. A wider, cinematic story replaces the traditional ladder-based single-player experience, tying the wider story of the game into each battles. Gone too are the usual three-round battles, replaced by a single bout where each character has two health bars and a Super Meter. Charged by performing combos, your Super Meter will let you unleash your special moves, with a fully charged Super Meter letting you perform your strongest attack.

The Super Meter can also be used in special wager battles called the Clash system. Aided by individualised cutscenes, both players will secretly bet part of their meter, with the highest bidder winning the battle – and stealing the power from their opponent.

Good deal. This makes game number 10 in my Wii U library. It's a shame there's so much negativity surrounding Wii U; I'd say the bad press is the only negative experience I've had with the console.

I'd have to agree with you 100%. Sure it got off to a bad start with a lack of games when the other 2 consoles (which have been around for 7 or more years) were pumping out several titles a week, but look at Xbox One and PS4 and the same thing is going to happen on those consoles for the next year.

Pretty sure there won't be as much negativity surrounding those consoles though. :(

I've built myself up quite the nice collection of very enjoyable Wii U games over the past year and I'll continue to support the console as long as the good games keep coming! :)

      • +3

Yeah, exactly guys. Looking at PS4, has one game in the all time best list, rest are remakes. Xbox One has 2-3.

Negativity is general geared because the bad press just piggyback without any expert opinion then rubs off the general consumer. CNET said it was garbage, then a year later recommend it over PS4 and Xbox One.

They all harped on about the second screen, and yet the new systems incorporate this to an extent. It's actually very useful, especially using the browser while looking for game hints. Absolute breeze on the Wii U. Miiverse is such an enjoyable experience which has also influenced the new systems.

It's a great system, so is every other system. Get the console, enjoy the games and support gaming.

However, I'll support the Wii U. Saying otherwise I tend to see it as ignorance. It's completely unique. You're getting an entirely different experience compared to the other consoles. What boring world in gaming without Nintendo? They're literally paving the way without looking to see what everyone is doing.

Just like the 3DS, remember the doom and gloom over that system? Look at it now.

In saying that, if you don't prefer the Nintendo experience, then you can choose between the other consoles, or get all 3! Easy.

I'd like to see 3rd parties get more innovative, but the first party nintendo games really need to sell the system first.

  • Got one, thanks.

  • Hi Rep,

Can you please do the same deal for the PC version?

    Thanks!

    • +1

The Wii U version is available to us at a much lower price than the other platforms. Unfortunately we can't really compete with the Wii U price on PC. Sorry!

    • +7

Nintendo still rules in my book

    • +4

      Well, you did ask.

    • +2

Yep, the same thing was said about the 3DS. Pure ignorance.

    • +1

      With pleasure.

  • +2

Good game. Its just a shame the WiiU version misses out on all the DLC or at least an ultimate edition bundled with all the DLC like the 360, PS3 and PC versions got.

  • They never released Wii U Ultimate Edition did they?

  • Great fun game this one. Nice exaggerated special moves.

  • +1

Just bought to add to my collection. THANKS !!

Must say, i too like my WiiU, we have a child ( now 9 ), and the Wii was perfect for him as he grew due to the game type and the Wii Motion side of things.

The WiiU was a natural upgrade, that retains playability across his now extensive catalogue of games.

We accept the WiiU is just a games machine, not something that tries to be an all conquering media hub ( and fails like thew other two ). I have my pc running XBMC and PLEX for that…

    And ZombieU rocks :)

    Works for me :)

  • Are things going that bad a retailer has to start off a post advising people that Wii U games don't work on original Wii's :S

But yes, awesome price, i jumped on as well, thanks OP :D

most parents don't know that there is a difference between the wii and wii u. working as a game reviewer for a childrens magazine, i can say that most, if not everyone ive encountered thinks that the wii u gamepad is an addon for the wii console, haha.

    • I sold a Wii U game on ebay a while ago and got a message from the buyer asking why it wasn't working. Even though i said Wii U in my listing they said they had never even heard of a Wii U and thought it was a Wii game. The name should have been more different than just adding a U on the end.

      • +2

Same thing happened to me. From now on, all my eBay sells are catered as if that person has been living in a cave for several years.

  • bought one. but still waiting for mario to drop in price

    • +3

      Possibly not going to happen.

      Historically speaking.

      • +1

Nintendo is going down the drain (http://www.skynews.com.au/tech/article.aspx?id=943538)
Wii U is a flop so expect more discounting on other games.

    • +1

Going the down the drain yet the billions they still have in reserve, and how hot the 3DS has grown ? OK whatever. This is just the continued trend of being negative towards a slow first year in Nintendo consoles.

      • $6 billion USD in the bank
        $4 billion USD in assets

It's not that much when you look at what they need to do to reinvigerate their business.

        • It's not all bad - but it's fair to say Nintendo has hit a bit of a rough patch.

In 2012, Nintendo posted their first financial loss…ever! They've not exactly set the world ablaze since then.

Everyone I know, including non-gamers, has a Nintendo Wii. I literally don't know a single other person who owns a Wii U. I personally love mine.

Nintendo bounced back from the GameCube (which I also loved), and I'm sure they'll do it again.

Unless Shigeru Miyamoto retires, that is. :)

    • If you think so. How is this any different than previous? Look back in history, all the doom and gloom… Nintendo not going anywhere son!

      • "How is this any different than previous?"

Nintendo have never had a home console that is selling considerably worse then the dreamcast did at this point in its life cycle.

They have also never been as isolated regarding 3 party support, and outside of the die hard dwindling nintendo core the wii u is completely irrelevant to the vast majority of core gamers.

The wii managed to become a hula hoop/yo yo style fad, you needed one because you needed one. Fads are random fluke occurrences, attempting to manufacture another by slapping "U" on the end of wii nintendo's management proved just how out of touch they are.

        • How is GameCube any different to this? From comparing sales, GCN would be leading by about 2.5 million more.

  • +3

So tired of this 'Nintendo is doomed' rubbish. Every time Nintendo releases a console it's the same story. People seem to forget that the Wii and DS were the two best selling consoles this generation, while the 3DS was the highest selling console last year. Yeah the Wii U is off to a poor start, but so was the PS3 for it's first couple of years before sales took off, as was the original Xbox, as is the Vita. The game industry is full of tough competition but game companies are used to rolling with the highs and lows. Sega flopped with every console they released for two hardware generations before they called it quits. Nintendo will be fine.

    • +2

Not only did Sega flop with 2 hardware generations, but they also flopped with a hand held generation and 16 bit addon's.

Megadrive was the last success Sega had in the console market.

In the next 7 years, they then released and failed with the 32x, Nomad, Saturn, and finally Dreamcast.

Now to put it in perspective, the last generation of consoles (ps3/360/wii) survived over 7 years that Sega failed 4 times in the same time period.

In the "128-bit" console generation, Gamecube was the clear loser, yet still sold 22 million consoles. It was never considered a failure and Nintendo followed up with the 100 mil selling Wii, which i'm sure was as much a surprise to them as it was to many others.

When the Wii released, people laughed at how it was SD and the games looked like Gamecube games, yet Nintendo went on to sell more consoles than any of the competitors.

I guess what i'm trying to say is that you can poo-poo on the Wii U as much as you like but its been proven time and time again by Nintendo that they aren't going anywhere, even when they're behind. Best case scenario Nintendo manages to raise Wii U sales to that of the Gamecube (which is highly likely and would be considered a success to Nintendo), worst case scenario they dump the hardware in a couple of years for a PC in a box like their competitors.

Also bear in mind that the video games market is much different nowadays than it was when Sega had its failures. The console generations are getting longer and longer and much more profitable, due to there being more video game players than ever before.

And lets not forget that Nintendo's 3DS outsold ALL other hardware last year. Why? Because they really brought some quality games!!! And remember, the 3DS was originally considered a failure too. If they can do the same with the Wii U, they may be able to regain some ground.

Nintendo are going nowhere, and don't they know it!

  • Since when did poor business performance = poor quality games?

  • just got mine, damn quick delivery. very impressed with ozgameshop. I reckon postage would have cost close to $15
