    Is this bike anygood?
I think it worth to buy it and use the tubes, tyres and the chain,
    its worth the money!

    • Possibly but have you read the reviews? Hmmm.

    • I wouldn't bother. Chain would be poor quality, you'd probably snap it in no time if you really thrash the bike it goes on, and the tyres wouldn't be any good either - stuff all puncture protection I'd say.

unfortunately only allows for home delivery, which kinda kills it… :(

    Nice price though!

  • flyingnoddy its free home delivery if you spend more than 50$ and the bike cost 52$.
    without paying with AMEX card

Also copy and pasted this review that is on the bottom of the Target page

Are you kiddding me???I paid about $120+ for this product just last month and now you are telling me you are selling it for $52???How could you do this tome???
BTW, the quality is really not good.Bearing broke on my thrid ride. Thinking about asking for a refund now

Looks like comments about quality could be on the mark

That's the good thing about bikes from the big retailers, you can swap them over no questions asked if they still sell them or demand a refund. I bought an elcheapo from kmart or someone many years back and used to swap it over at the slightest thing, ie stretched chain etc. Had 3 over the course of a year.

…fitting one of the wheels required careful adjustment with that special tool known as a hammer…

  • Does anyone know if this is available in store?

    • +2

I have been looking at this bike for weeks after reading earlier thread. No stock. store can not give rain check because actual stores and online shop have separate stock. Staff cannot look up this item number in store.

Without pickup in store this deal is dead

Shipping is more then the bike

    • +1

      Agreed.

      • +1

Almost agree. Just learn the difference between "then" and "than".

I wish the store page would put in more of the actual store specs. :( Even with the delivery factored in, isn't this an insane price for an alloy road bike?

    • +2

I would think even with delivery costs this is indeed an insane price. My wife mentioned today (before I saw this deal) that she would like to take her old road bike off the wall and give it a ride, it's 30 years old and pretty much everything has perished on it, she saved for a year to buy it when she was a kid and I sadly told her that it's likely you could buy something the same quality for $100 these days, seems I was right.

      • childhood memory…priceless.

      • +3

        No, you were wrong…
There's no way this $100 bike is anywhere near the quality of even the cheapest and nastiest bike you could buy 30 years ago.
This thing will fall apart within the year. The 30 year old clunker probably only needs new tyres and brake pads and a few dobs of grease and oil and will last another 30 years.

  • I thought this was an insane price too. However, by looking at how long this item has been posted in ozbargain and still not being ozbargained …

  • Possibly silly question here. Can you use a prepaid AMEX card to get these offers?

    • +1

      No

      • +1

        thanks

I put this on Rain check when the deal first came out a few weeks ago.

Going to call up and have the price amended to match. Will let you know how it goes.

I was told stock should be in by end of month originally.

      So my update.

Over the long weekend I went into the store to review my Rain check. I was then told that the item had been changed to Clearance and they didn't expect any back. I was advised to call the online store to see if they could ship one to Erina Fair.

Called the online store today and got told that since I issued a Rain check in NSW it was not valid since the instore price was meant to be for South Australia only. However a lovely labelled called Heather would get back to me soon.

I get a call this afternoon to say that technically the bike was labelled on the 5/1/14 as Clearance, a day before my Rain check was placed. Feeling that were about to tell me to shove off I was then told that I could order the bike online, and call her back and I would be issued a refund for the delivery.

WOOT WOOT WOOT. I just got a bike for $56. Awesome!

      • I'm happy for you. Woot Woot.
Do you want to deliver it to QLD for me and make it a total of $60?
Forgetting your cost of postage, you can make $4!

I was told I cant rain check it in my store because it was online stock only…. Woot woot

      • +1

thank you for the update. woot woot for you.

  • Reviews for this bike say its not good quality and its going to fall apart.

    • +7

"Reviews for this bike say its not good quality and its going to fall apart".
If reviewers are comparing this $52 bike with their $2000 road bikes then I agree its not good quality.
But for $52, its perfect for someone thinking of starting to ride a road bike. If after a couple of months you find out you want to really get serious, then you can upgrade to a better bike. Most people loose interest after a couple of months and their bikes collects cobwebs in the garage. For $52 you don't loose much money.

      • Keep in mind this bike has downtube shifters. Can be quite scary and dangerous for someone starting out to use. There was quite a lot of discussion on this bike early last year, but without the full specs being available most people were put off.

        • this bike was selling for ~$150 a few months ago, now its $52, I wonder why?? LOL

        • Was $150, can pick up in store. $52 + $69 delivery only = $121.

  • +3

Anything over $50 and it's not worth it. Great if you want to learn how to stay upright on a bicycle again. Other than that…

Although, since this piece of crap makes you work so hard your forced to exert/use more energy :) Cheaper than a gym membership and great for cardio. Don't expect to be doing the Tour De Pants on it though…

  • +1

The riding position on this bike is very aggressive if you need to reach the brake levers. So no good for a daily commute. The downtube shifters nearly made me come off the bike as well. But all good once you get used to it.

    • Great to have some feedback.
For normal riders, the best type is hybrid cross-mountain bike.

    • Thanks. Think I have made up my mind now not to get one. In case break my collar bones.

  • Anyone live in Sydney and want to go multiple ways on delivery? It says 138 for 3 or more flat fee

    • I'm in, where are you based?

      • East, however it's 75 bucks now!

  • Bought this bike when the original deal was posted 1 year ago for $150.

Comments on the quality are pretty accurate. Found it uncomfortable for a ride of more than 15km.
Just sold the bike off as I have purchased a (comparatively) much pricier $600 bike as I cycle much more regularly now.

At the price it is now though, might be worth it for a starting bike. Depends on your budget.
