Promera CON-CRET Creatine Powder or Capsules BOGOF (96 Servings Total) $35.11 Delivered @ BB.com

540
INSPIRE10

I have been using this brand creatine all of last year; I have to say it's the most convenient and effective creatine i've used before.

These sell for upwards of $50 on eBay per 48 capsule pack! http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Promera-Con-Cret-48-Capsules-Crea…

They need no loading, no mixing, and can be taken 30mins before workout - they have a shelf life of 2 years, just keep them in a dark place (in desk draw, pantry etc) and unlike other creatine, you only need 1 tablet per serve.

By combining BBs 'INSPIRE10' code and ProMera's BOFOG deal, you are able to get 2 x 48 capsules delivered for $35.11 AUD!

Get big and thank me later. Here are some articles on creatine: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/bbinfo.php?page=creatine

  • For those that have never used this its creatine HCL

    • For those that have never used this

How about for those that have used it ?

How about for those that have used it ?

        it's roidz m8

      • You'd hope you knew what it was before putting it in your body…

  • So this is the same product as their Concret powder just in tablet form? I've used the powdered stuff before and was incredible but felt like it did some major damage to my teeth

    • +3

Yep - they offer flavoured/unflavoured powder or these caps. If you want to pass on the artificial colours/flavours and want something that gets into your bloodstream a little faster, i cant recommend the capsules more highly. 96 tablets will last you approx 6+ months of 4/5 training sessions a week. Only take on the days you train, with 1 glass of water.

      • +1

        This is great! Thanks OP!

      • +1

Are you sure you have the dosage right?

If your around 45kg and doing average/normal training that's cool, but the average bloke (90kg) on this stuff will need to take 2 to 4 capsules on a training day and 2 on a non-training day according to the dosage recommendations.

"Normal Training: 1 serving per 100 pounds of body weight. Intense Training: 1-2 servings per 100 pounds of body weight. Off Days: Can take 1 serving per 100 pounds of body weight to assist in muscle recovery"

        • +1

Yep, I use only 1 tablet per day and i know I get results (strength/recovery) that I wouldn't without it. Obviously there is debate about whether creatine is 'effective' or not. Im not here to discuss this. Im an advocate of the use of high quality creatine (capsule preferably) in conjunction with a proper diet high in protein, lots of water and used in the right doses and at the right time prior to your workout.

Unless you are a complete gym junkie you only require 1 tablet per training day, anything else is just waste an unnecessary in my view.

I weigh around 85kg and get results from 1 tablet. If you want to use more, go for it. This 'loading' and 'off days' nonsense is just aimed at getting you to finish your supply quicker; this is where theses capsules are such a good buy.

        • I agree with the idea that loading creatine is BS marketing and that the diet of an individual is much more important than some supplement.
However, are you suggesting that your dosage of 750mg of creatine(albeit hcl, which purports to be more effective than monohydrate) daily, in addition to being at 'the right time' will have a large enough effect to be worth it and that any more will be a waste?

        • In my experience, 1 capsule of this product is sufficient for me. I have noticed results from taking 1 capsule. Im sure there might be a benefit in taking 2, but this doubles the cost per dose and I feel it is unnecessary. Im no gym goliath, i just want noticeable results in size, strength and recovery; I believe this product taken at 750mg 4-5 days per week for at least 3 months month gives people what they want. You can disagree.

  • Thanks!

  • Bought it, thanks

  • +2

This does seem to be a good deal. The cheapest I have found on Ebay is a single 48 serving bucket for $32.95.

Note however that there are definitely cheaper ways to get creatine HCL. A quick search found this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/120-x-500mg-CREATINE-HCL-CAPSULES…

  • +9

Although a good price for this product, your effectively paying a lot more for HCL then a typical monohydrate.

I haven't seen any significant evidence that HCL is better for gains or that you require less dosage, has anyone else?

    • +3

Have to agree, pure monohydrate is all you need and it's cheaper than peanuts on ebay.

    • +4

You're right Coley. Straight up Monohydrate is the way to go, no creapure, creatine HCl or any of that rubbish. Otherwise your just ending up with a placebo effect and expensive pee! Thanks for the codes anyway @rawm

P.S. If you get bloated on the monohydrate, just reduce the dose (usually 5-10mg). A good sign that the creatine your using is actually doing what creatine is meant to do, is if you have to much and you get bloated.

      • +2

Do you mean grams, not milligrams? Monohydrate is taken is gram quantities to be effective.

      • Creapure is just a brand that makes creatine monohydrate. Companies such as ON use Creapure in their monohydrate. I suppose with creapure you know that it's produced under stricter conditions, as the supps market isn't that well regulated.

Also, you're not going to notice the creatine monster suddenly explode out of your heart as soon as you take it (e.g., as a PWO lol). It'll take time for the creatine to saturate your muscles and be used by your body as a synthetic precursor for the adenozinetriphosphate-phosphocreatine system (atp-pc, for short bursts).

But yes, creatine mono is the way to go!
I can see how this would be an alternative, as there's always some bloody creatine left in the cup when mixing. /losingallthegainz

        • i started mixing my creatine with warm/hot water. it mixes in better and you don't lose your gains at the bottom of the glass

        • +1

Lol on the gains at the bottom! :)

        • +2

Yeah stone, that would be 5-10grams lol.

Here's a better deal @ $19/kg (http://www.bulknutrients.com.au/buy/creatine-monohydrate/CRE…) and they have a free shaker link on here too: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/128516

It has really fine particles therefore dissolves quicker/better than your chemist warehouse Musashi growling dog creapure for $30/0.5kg.

And yes, snake fruit?! Not only is creatine tasteless but snake fruit, nigga please. It's like calling something FRUITPUNCH aka. we have no idea what it tastes like.

    • The HCl will increase its solubility and will allow it to be absorbed quicker. Same principal as fast acting analgesics. As you don't need fast absorbed creatine (in fact I would argue that slower is better) there should be no noticeable difference, possibly a higher bioavailability.

Also creatine has literally no taste, so I don't see why you would buy this over something much cheaper per serve

      • Hmm yes that is a lot cheaper (200 serves for $19 delivered). But do you have to take 1 or 2 doses (and how many gram's)?

Also, can anyone else re-iterate what you've said?

Snake Fruit?? That's a flavour? To quote Seinfeld 'not that there's anything wrong with that' but I think I'll stick to the Lemon Lime!

  • I'm currently trying to lose weight(fat, not necessarily weight), and gain muscle, is this gonna help me?

    • +2

For body-builders it has a convenient effect of causing water-retention in the muscles which will increase muscle size. If you are trying to look thinner this may work against you.

      • +1

If your goals are to lose weight then this (creatine) is not for you.

It will increase your mass due to water retention in muscles and help you lift more and recover faster from weights sessions. I find it hinders my running because the excess water makes my legs feel heavy.

        /source: used on/off for 10 years.

    • +1

Nope, it will retain your water weight

    • +4

For your goal, I would think your priorities should be to get your diet (input) and exercise (output) in check before looking to supplements for additional muscle gains.

The only supplement you really need during this phase would be protein. During your weight loss phase, both cardio and weight training will be beneficial but don't get too hung up on muscle gain and amazing supplements that promise it all.

That being said creatine is an excellent proven supplement but probably better suited to later in your weight loss phase.

I would recommend having a read/research of the fitness section of reddit, there is some good info in there.

      http://www.reddit.com/r/Fitness/wiki/faq
      http://www.reddit.com/r/fitness

      Good luck :)

edit: The above assumes you are want to lose excessive fat in general. If your comment was in relation to a cutting phase as your are already into bodybuilding, please disregard.

    • -5

It should help. Creatine helps build muscle. Muscle helps burn fat.

    • +3

Creatine is a "salt", in the osmotic sense. It will make you retain water, but if you have been loaded with creatine for an extended period of time (2-3 months), most of the creatine would be intracellular, meaning within the muscle cells. The creatine will then pull water into the muscle. When water is in the muscle, the muscle becomes larger (and no, not in a water-balloon type of way).

For creatine to be effective, it must be constantly loaded (ie. once per day). As soon as you load it, it will absorb into the blood stream and enter the space outside the muscle (in ambitious hope it is admitted into the muscle:) ). During this time, it will still pull water, so there will be a lot of extra-cellular water. THIS WILL MAKE YOU LOOK LIKE A WATER-BALLOON. This effect will decrease as you titrate (adjust) your creatine dosage so you don't have so much excess as to make you swell. Also, drinking lots of water (ie 3-4L) daily also flushes out all the excess salt from your extra-cellular fluid.

Long story short - initially, it will make you look fat. It doesn't change your fat composition. After loading, it will make you look puffy with water until you learn to control the dosage. Long term, it only makes you look slightly more bloated. A bodybuilder ready for a show compared to one just before ready is only separated by water weight. They just cut the creatine a week before the show to increase that TINY bit of muscle definition.

    • Trying to lose fat, it could help. It allows you to train harder (creatine acts as a source "food" to regenerate your "energy" stores when oxygen can't get there fast enough), hence you can use more energy in 1 session. But it will increase the amount of water in your muscles, so your weight on the scales may not change much.

If you're not pushing yourself to failure with weights or doing something like HIIT (anaerobic exercises) then it's not going to make much difference.

Source: chemist (with enough biochem to know whats what) and I've lost weight while using creatine (but a sensible diet and decent regime > creatine; but you can have all 3)

  • +7

you're throwing money down the drain for convenience. there is ample research showing that you do not need to mega dose creatine once your body has reached saturation state. if you don't believe me read this article, that's why i constantly stay on 5g a day. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/1327657

also for your average gym goer you are better off buying a cheaper creatine like monohydrate. i personally dont find it hard to put creatine into my breakfast juice but it's a good deal for someone who can't stomach it.

i'm not a rep, but if anyone is interested in a cheap powder form of creatine bulk sells it at 9.5c per serving (5g/day)
    EDIT: bulk nutrients

    • +6

A fellow pubmed-er for gymming. like Monkeycheez and nic1 has mentioned, creatine doesn't need to be taken as a pre-workout. CreaFine makes a good pure creatine, and as my tub lasts for years, the last time I bought mine, it was branded by Optimum Nutrition. Tastes and feels like sand but I dilute mine with 2L of water every morning.

Unless you know what you're doing, do not buy "pre-workout" formulas. They contain "Proprietary blend" which they are permitted to omit ingredients pending FDA approval. And they usually contain a lot of caffeine as that is dirt cheap and gives you the impression that the overall product is working.

If you still choose to take pre-workout "supplements", you may want to skip ahead and just start juicing. They're both going to rush you to the grave, may as well buy one that isn't a placebo. Neg away.

For those already in the know, care to help the rest of us out? The capsules sound like a good idea and I like the idea of just popping one before a workout and getting an appropriate dose without worrying about multiple caps during the day. I can see the monohydrate caps on ebay are pretty cheap, but there's so many options… so what are reputable options? I'm wary of buying the ones in a clear plastic bag from poland, for example… as with most things, there's bound to be some names to trust and some to avoid?

    Cheers

    • +3

Creatine does not need to be taken pre-workout, or spread out during the day, because that's not how it works. All you need is to take 5g of it some time whenever it's most convenient for you. I just throw some monohydrate in my whey shake myself, I see no benefit in getting more expensive caps.

      • Here's the argument: When is a good time to take creatine? There is a lot of conjecture out there about whether to take before training, after training, whenever… I personally take 1 capsule 30-45mins before I train. Why? Because its my preference. These caps are guaranteed dosage sizes, no mixing with water/juice, and you can keep them anywhere. nic1, you might see no benefit in capsules, but others do. I mixed creatine powder into things for a long time and can say without a doubt these things make life easier.

  • +2

Just buy mono powder if you want creatine. It's probably one of the cheapest supplements out there. Timing doesn't matter lol. Throw a teaspoon of it in your mouth and have a drink.

  • +3

750mg is a pretty low dose. I take 5g daily (powdered monohydrate). I would need to take about 7 of these capsules, so about $2.75/day. Whereas just comparing with a powder from Chemist Warehouse, 350g @ $18, that costs me 25c/day. Not really a bargain IMO unless you'd prefer to pay an extra $2.50/day to pop 7 capsules over dissolving in water or juice.

Edit: So after reading above it sounds like you don't need as much of this type of creatine as you do monohydrate (in weight). Ignore my comments! But still, I prefer to stick to the well-researched monohydrate type.

    • It is actually unproven that you need less HCL then Mono as far as I know.

Even the recommended dosage from them says to take 4 caps a day for an average 90kg bloke. So basically 3g. Getting close to the normal 2.5 to 5g of mono per day.

    • +2

Agreed, last time I ordered supplements from Smartpowders I got 1KG of mono for <$15, which will last me over a year.

      This is not a deal.

      • -4

Calm down Mr "Yo bro, i got 1KG of powder for like $15 bra". I am not comparing this to the monohydrate powders - I clearly marked this as CAPSULES, its for people who prefer smaller doses of on the go capsules as apposed to powder. This is at least 60% cheaper than any AUS retailer for this product. It is a deal.

        • -1

          Agreed.

Regardless of the mono/hcl/dosage debate, this is an excellent price for this product.

        • +1

Relax, I was simply sharing my opinion, and I stick by it. I'd rather those interested in creatine deserve to hear cheaper ways of ingesting!

I don't see how capsules are convenient when you need 7 just to get 5g.
Also, on the go? Sounds like you believe in creatine timing. It's all about saturation, it doesn't matter when you take it.

  • Bought. Thanks OP.
This is the first time I buy from bodybuilding.com.
Do they ship from their US store?

    • +1

No probs! Im sure you'll be a ProMera capsule covert! Yes, they ship from their warehouse in Idaho http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/bbware.htm and it usually takes around 20-25 days, so expect this in your mail in mid Feb.

    • +1

Don't be surprised to see your package go from Compton, CA, USA to Germany before coming to Australia via the tracking website. One of my recent packages traveled to various Germany postal depots for 13 days and took 46 days total to arrive. Usually it's around 3 weeks delivery though.

Been hitting gym past 6 months as i was over weight 81kg I am now 74kg, training consist of gym 3/4 times week 1.5 hours session.
Pre-workout 10 minutes before training and protein shake after and another during day, trying to lose body fat which is working but trying muscle up and hovering around 78kg, weight keeps dropping am i doing something wrong would this product help my current training plan ?
    thanks for any help.

    • -1

1 - Cut the pre workout, not necessary
2 - Use the $ to buy decent quality protein (1 x casein for night time/morning and 1 x WPI for after workout http://www.bulknutrients.com.au/)
3 - Limit training session to 60min high intensity 4/5 days is more than enough
4 - Get your diet right and eat clean: 3 litres water per day + daily complex carbs, eggs, whole wheat, red meat, vegetables
5 - If happy with body weight increasing, begin taking creatine supplement, results will come in 12 weeks

This product would assist, but only if you get the other areas in check!

      • Thanks for help rawm will follow your 5 steps!
        1. I kinda over bought on this have 6 tubs left (1 tub last about 1.5 months) :(
        2. Will have a read about these two products over weekend.
        3. Have been changing to this routine since last week thanks.
        4. Diet is one area too hard to get correct, been trying very hard to cut down on my MACCAS, Kfc, Oporto, Hungry Jacks, Pizza Hut etc within 2 minutes driving distance each.
        5. Purchasing now, this wouldnt play havoc with my pre-workout as im not going to discard it? thanks bud.

        Could your recommend a Flavour!

        • +1

Can you sell the pre-workout tubs on gumtree/eBay? I know you'd lose some cash, but it's worth thinking about.

Pre-Workout products do more harm than good long term. They are addictive and mess with your sleep patterns, not to mention the untold damage the chemicals can do to you. That being said, I used them for a year http://au.bodybuilding.com/store/nutrex/hemo-rage-black.html… and while I felt stronger and more energetic, they do affect you adversely as time goes on.

In regards to #5 - They wont play havoc with each other, you can use both pre workout and these capsules no problems.

        • Thanks for all the help at checkout now cheers, I dont think Mike Chang would be to happy if he saw his Pre-workout tubs up for sale on ebay lol yes 1 of those ppl who got sucked into all advertising and hype about secret into sixpack lol, $88+ a tub delivered not cheap shipping kills it. Though i swear product does do as it says but then many to exactly the same at 1 third of the price.
Thanks again rawm for your help.

      • +3

I don't want to sound rude, but that is so bro. IIFYM baby!

      • +1

        Why cut the pre workout?

It may not be necessary but definitly decreases the time in which you will get results.

  • Should find out if these are close to there used by dates before ordering by the truck load!

    • +1

They should be fine - they are likely to have at least 12 months expiry - my last purchase had a 24 month expiry.

  • -1

    Perfect timing! thanks OP.
Got a free sample of this stuff with my xtend and had it yesterday…noticed a HUGE difference.
Do you have to cycle these?

    • Some will swear by cycling monohydrate powders, but for these I'd just take 1 capsule per training day.

      • Yeah that's what I am going to do! awesome deal!

    • +1

Doesn't creatine take repeated continual use before it starts to saturate your muscles and then give you effects? I've been taking the same stuff and I only felt slight effects after a month of continual use.

    • +1

      Creatine doesn't have acute effects.

  • +1

Save yourself some money…. 1kg Creatine Monohydrate is only $19

  • Sorry I'm a creatine noob here, could anyone tell me how's this different to Muscletech CellTech creatine?

I think this is a better deal. For less money, you get 160 servings which have 2.3x more creatine! And the fenugreek extract is a nice bonus.

  • Define 'effective' creatine. What did you get from it? I can't picture anything other than water retention.

  • Btw anyone having trouble tracking their order? I got tracking number on Friday but it's still coming up as an invalid tracking number.

    • That's fairly normal for BB.com orders. Their DHL tracking numbers can take ages to start working and then rarely update. It can still say Compton, CA and be sitting in your hand in Australia.

I also ordered on Friday (morning) and mine shows it as en route.

"Thank you for your email. I apologize for the delay with order xxx. With DHL Global Post, it takes from 7-14 business days for an order to arrive at your country's point of entry. Once it is received by your country, it must be processed by the customs agency. This process can take anywhere from 3-60 days, depending on the parcel volume and processing speed of the country. You can view any tracking updates by entering in your tracking number; xxx at this link- http://webtrack.dhlglobalmail.com/."

        • Yeah, the DHL service BB.com use is really inconsistent with delivery times but it does arrive eventually.

        • They kept telling me the same bs in their email and online chat. I included the tracking link in my paypal claim and got full refund within 10 days.

ps: I still haven't received the product.
