Thanks Gerd, there's lots of options including the Woolies Everyday rewards card.

More importantly….how about some Telstra broadband/Bundle deals!

I'm sorry for being negative here but I see no point in joining Qantas frequent flyer membership unless you're a real qantas flyer who flies a lot to earn silver or gold status. Otherwise, you'll be treated badly as a bronze member. It's almost better to fly with them without being a member

    • how about for good wine cheap?

not to mention all the credit card offers with enough bonus qff points upon signup for a free flight :)

    • I'd have to agree with this. Hardly worth racking up points with credit card purchases these days as they charge to much in fee's and taxe's to make it worthwhile.

that is a stupid comment. i have earnt free flights ex taxes by flying qantas when it is the cheapest fare available. definitely worth it

edit: especially worth using points on peak flights, as the number of points required doesn't change (whereas the fare cost does)

Definitely NOT a stupid comment, perhaps you don't understand. Qantas is ripping off its FF members with prohibitive charges on FF bookings that it cynically refers to as 'taxes and fuel surcharges'. It's reached the stage where the difference between what Qantas's competition charges for a return ticket and what Qantas charges for 'taxes and fuel surcharges' on a QFF ticket is so little that QFF points are almost worthless!!

no i get that. although perhaps you are just booking at the wrong times? i flew return over NY for $70. on no other carrier can you get a similar price. given points are free, you'd be silly not to sign up

    • I'm a casual traveller for work (2-4 times per year) and I get points through Woolworth Everyday Rewards. Whilst it takes ages to accrue points I did manage to get a $180 bike for my daughter with my points .. for just doing what I normally do. That alone is worth it.

But as an aside, my parent transferred me some of their points and got a Business class upgrade for 'free'.

  • Try being a Tasmanian they charge full rate for a flight, give us Qantas Link, no entertainment, and then say they're the best airline…. on the upside we lose the Dash-8 service, 'orrible planes!

U can redeem the FF points for woolies vouchers.
