  RRP = recommended rip-off price? No one in their right mind would spend $1000+ on an Atom based device.

  Edit: I cannot believe this, but ~$1000 does actually seem like a common price for this device :O

  It's quite old….The launch date for the processor is Q4'11. At this price and as a refurb it's not really a bargain in my opinion.

    Not all the Atoms are the same :) Take Atom C2750 SoC for example —

    • 8 core @ 2.4GHz
    • addressing up to 64GB memory
    • 20W

    Supposed to be around the same performance as Xeon E5520 quad-core a few years back, which is still pretty fast.

      Fair point though… I keep overlooking Atoms, but they're probably faster than the 4-5 yo desktop I'm using…

  You could get a Clover Trail or even Bay Trail based tablets for that price. Clover Trail based tablets probably sells for less than that nowadays.
