For some reason I just don't trust stuff from Aliexpress

    • and you can't use Paypal…

Saying you don't trust aliexpress is no different to saying you don't trust ebay.

Aliexpress is not one seller - it's a market place.

I've bought many things from them with no issues. Just use your brains and like ebay research a little on who you're buying from.

It's all about the buyer protection the market place offers. Have you dealt with Aliexpress for refunds?

        • +1

I have, and I feel it's tilted in the buyer's favour. The seller doesn't receive their money until the buyer receives the item and green-lights the transaction, so there's not much incentive for them to be misleading.

        • +2

I've dealt with a dispute and they don't care if the seller is being misleading or if they completely lie.
I've paid extra for UPS shopping for the items to arrive 6 weeks later using snail mail and Aliexpress didn't care, wouldn't even refund the difference.
The sellers also regularly lie saying things such as 'if you place the order now I'll give you a 10% discount, then when you ask how they say place the order and we'll sort it out another day'.

Sorry I should have added that I believed them and after contacting the sellers afterwards they the say 'after the sale has gone through we can't do anything about it, we'll give you a discount off your next order'

In all of this I'm not saying don't use Aliexpress, just know what your buying may not be the highest quality or from the most reputable of places.

        • very careful response deserves a +
maybe the sellers are all those whom ali baba caught out come back to life?

  • I cant really recommend it after jumping from this (50 at target) to 520 (150 at dick smiths). Would only be good for those who want a simple phone (due to lack of apps) with a awesome GPS map system.

      pl post $50 at target;
      unlocked?

  • Get one for $99 Optus locked @ Koles

One thing is for sure: no one is paying the 200 odd bucks they are claiming one of these retails for

So the 610 isn't as good as the 520?

    • +2

nope it's running the old windows phone os (7.5). lumia 520 is more recent.

      • To be precise, the Lumia 610 runs Windows Phone 7.8, whereas the 520 runs w.p 8

  • +1

hmm okay thanks. So windows phone suffer fragmented os like android. Damn
