  • Hmm. I have them a few years ago, enjoying the free trial month… And now they want 5 bucks to try them out!

However I do agree with the "no obligation" bit. No question asked after I watched around 15 DVDs over the 1 month period.

(Also a note to myself to fix up the screenshot thingy. Kept on reporting 404 on HTTPS pages)

  • well this is an unlimited trial for one month, 3 DVDs at a time, so potentially you can get more than 15 DVDs all up. It would depend on how quickly they send them, probably not really quickly I'd imagine. Bigpond was very quick, once you marked them as returned on the website, they'd send the next lot before the returned ones reached them. They also sent them out on the weekends.

    • I haven't tried the Big Pond one (which I think I should). It was supposed to be "unlimited" from Quickflix as well last time we tried, but really 15 is the maximum we can watch in a month. At the end spending 2-3 hours every second night watching DVD is really too taxing (note I don't watch TV at home) but YMMV :)

As of the queue — it was fun watching the queue to see which ones will be in your mailbox next time. However we rarely have our first preference delivered, as they are usually block busters (thus high demand).

  • Bigpond was very good as far as the range of DVDs go, they also seemed to have many DVDs in stock. We chose a mix of block busters and old releases and only had 1 which did not get sent. We made sure we only chose 15 titles in total so that there was no way they could charge us for extra :) I'd recommend giving BP a go for sure :) We also did not watch them all as they came, we don't have the time either, we "saved" them to watch later at a convenient time ;)

    • Thanks!

I'll probably sign up during my paternity leave — renting DVDs to keep my 2 year old entertained while me and wife busy looking after the new born :)
